Congressman Keith Ellison

Keith Ellison Wasn't Smeared, He Was Exposed.  To smear someone is to damage his reputation by false accusations.  In public debate, at least, critics of Ellison are noting his words and deeds, all of them legitimate concerns.  The Washington Post informed its reader that Ellison had apologized for "his criticism of Israel's policy toward Palestinians and his defense of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan."  But that, of course, is either purposely minimizing Ellison's history or extraordinarily uninformed.  For one thing, Ellison didn't merely defend Farrakhan, he was a follower.  He didn't only appear as a local spokesman for the Nation of Islam, he appeared to defend a Minneapolis anti-Semite who said "Jews are among the most racist white people I know."

Rep. Ellison touts expanded dialogue with Islam during speech in Qatar.  Rep. Keith Ellison — who by now must be tired of being constantly identified as the first Muslim elected to Congress — was in the Middle East over the Presidents Day weekend.  He spoke at Qatar University's College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, says the Gulf Times.  "Following 9/11, there has been an emergence of Muslim civil rights organizations," Ellison said.  "The political picture is bright, not perfect, but we are ready to expand the dialogue and work to resolving the miscomprehensions that exist in our society and between the U.S. and the Islamic world."  And he praised President Obama's early overtures to Muslims.

Congressman Ellison spends Presidents Day weekend at College of Sharia in Qatar.  So, Keith Ellison (aka Keith Hakim or Keith Ellison Muhammad) displayed his utmost respect for America and the American presidents of the past, by taking a Presidents Day weekend jaunt to an Islamic country.  Writing about this infiltrating traitor gets tiresome but bears repeating until people, preferably other politicians, [understand].

Keith Ellison Once Said Black People Don't Have 'Obligation' To Obey Government.  Democratic congressman and DNC chair front-runner Keith Ellison once said that "black people don't live in a democracy" and "don't have an obligation" to obey the government.  Ellison made the comments at a 1992 protest after white police officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King.  At least 63 people died in the racially charged riots following the verdict.

DNC leaders unhappy with aggressive tactics to elect Ellison as chairman.  Democratic Party activists who tried unsuccessfully to sink Hillary Clinton's nomination at last year's convention are at it again, pestering national party members ahead of next week's vote on a new chairman.  Party leaders are eager to incorporate the energy of progressives who buoyed Sen. Bernard Sanders' presidential campaign last year — but less enthusiastic about the activists' rough edges that continue to irk many Democratic National Committee members.  They say the phone calls to lobby for Rep. Keith Ellison, the choice of progressives, over Tom Perez, viewed as the establishment choice, are out of control.

DNC Candidate Keith Ellison Wants Full Democrat Filibuster on Gorsuch Nomination.  During the last of the DNC regional forum's today in Baltimore Maryland, leading candidate Keith Ellison outlines why every non-Democrat should hope he wins the chairmanship.  Ellison's expressed approach is that Supreme Court Nominee Neil Gorsuch should be filibustered by all Senate Democrats.

DNC boots candidate from chairman's race for criticizing Ellison's Islamic faith.  The Democratic National Committee is kicking a candidate out of the chairmanship race after he told The Hill that Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) should not be the party's next leader because he is a Muslim.  In a Jan. 5 email to The Hill, Vincent Tolliver, a former House candidate in Arkansas, said that Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, should not be chairman because of Islamic positions on homosexuality.  "His being a Muslim is precisely why DNC voters should not vote for him," Tolliver wrote.  "Muslims discriminate against gays.  Islamic law is clear on the subject, and being gay is a direct violation of it.  In some Muslim countries, being gay is a crime punishable by death."

Rep. Keith Ellison: 'If They Can Ban Muslims, Why Can't They Ban Mormons...?'.  Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) said President Donald Trump's 90-day ban on immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries is "a religiously based ban," and "if they can ban Muslims, why can't they ban Mormons."  "It is a religiously based ban, which is something that our — our Constitution says Congress shall make no law establishing a religion or abridge the free exercise thereof.  This is a violation of equal protection.  It's a religiously based ban.  If they can ban Muslims, why can't they ban Mormons, why can't they ban Seventh-day Adventists, why can't move into ethnic groups?" Ellison asked.

The Editor says...
Once again, for those of you who don't notice small details, it wasn't the Mormons who flew hijacked airplanes into office buildings on September 11, 2001.  And the Seventh-day Adventists aren't bent on world domination through violence.  And the Baptists don't make women wear headbags in public.  And the Catholics' most revered 7th-century prophet wasn't married to a 9-year-old girl.  And the Presbyterians don't encourage wife beating.

DNC chair choice:  Muslim Brotherhood Congressman vs. enemy of free speech.  Keith Ellison has spoken at a convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).  Yet ISNA has actually admitted its ties to Hamas, which styles itself the Palestinian arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.  The Justice Department actually classified ISNA among entities "who are and/or were members of the US Muslim Brotherhood."  In 2008, Ellison accepted $13,350 from the Muslim American Society (MAS) to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca.  The Muslim American Society is a Muslim Brotherhood organization:  "In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews.  One of the nation's major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members."  That's from the Chicago Tribune in 2004, in an article that is now carried on the Muslim Brotherhood's English-language website, Ikhwanweb.  Also, the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) raised large amounts of for Ellison's first campaign, and he has spoken at numerous CAIR events.

A Modest Proposal — To All Those Boycotting Members of Congress.  For years Minnesota's Keith Ellison, the favored candidate for chairman of the Democratic National Committee, supported Louis Farrakhan.  Apparently (and quite implausibly), only Ellison did not know that Farrakhan hates America, hates white people, and hates Jews.  But get this:  Ellison won't attend the inauguration because Trump "preaches division and hate."

DNC Chair Frontrunner:  Trump Brings White Supremacy To The White House.  Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, who once proposed a black-only nation and is now a leading candidate to be the next Democratic National Committee chairman, told supporters Friday that President-elect Donald Trump is bringing white supremacy back to the White House.  According to The Washington Post's Dave Weigel, Ellison made these statements at the DNC's Future Forum in Phoenix, Arizona, and received a warm response to his remarks.

Perfect: DNC Chair Candidate Forum to Be Held at Anti-Israel Restaurant.  Brent Scher of the Washington Free Beacon reports that the Democratic party's slate of nominees for DNC chair has agreed to participate in a candidate forum hosted at a restaurant owned by a rabid critic of Israel.  The decision to hold it there may give the leading contender for DNC chair — the rabidly anti-Israel and one-time Louis Farrakhan backer Keith Ellison — something of a "home field" advantage.  Sadly, however, it's far from clear that any of the participants will feel out of place.  The restaurant in question is called Busboys and Poets.  It is owned by Andy Shallal, an Iraqi-born anti-Israel activist.  According to Shallal, Israel is an "occupation" force guilty of "terrorizing" the Middle East.  Shallal has also claimed that the United States receives its "marching orders from Tel Aviv."  Ellison likewise said in 2010 that United States foreign policy is governed by "what is good or bad" for Israel.  Shallal uses his restaurant to promote his anti-Israeli views.

Van Jones Says Muslim Keith Ellison Is Future of the Democratic Party.  On CNN, liberal activist Anthony Kapel "Van" Jones said that "the Clinton days are over" in the Democratic Party, and pointed to two emerging leaders as the future of a more progressive political party focused on identity politics.  Naturally, he chose two racial minority members of Congress — and the extremely controversial first Muslim congressman.  "You have to understand, I think that the Clinton days are over," Jones told CNN's Jake Tapper on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday [1/1/2017].  "This idea that we're going to be this moderate party ... those days are over."

Alan Dershowitz:  I'll Resign From the Democratic Party if Keith Ellison Named DNC Chair.  While appearing on Fox Business today to express criticism of Secretary of State John Kerry's speech on Israel, famed law professor Alan Dershowitz insisted that if the Democratic National Committee went with a certain choice for its leadership, he'd no longer call himself a Democrat.  Speaking to host Sandra Smith, Dershowitz slammed the possibility of Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) being named the new DNC Chairman, pointing to Ellison's association with the Nation of Islam's Louis Farrakhan, who is well-known for his anti-Semitic views.  "If they now appoint Keith Ellison, who worked with Farrakhan, to be chairman of the DNC, you're going to see a lot of people leave," Dershowitz noted.

Keith Ellison's tax cheating, scofflaw history comes back to haunt him.  Just yesterday [12/20/2016], John Sexton was looking at the continued effort to prop up Keith Ellison's bid to be the next DNC chair and some of the problems he's running into.  These are not small issues, particularly when you focus on his not very distant history of dancing with the Nation of Islam and the disturbing strains of antisemitism in his comments on foreign policy.  But the oppo file on Ellison is considerably deeper than that and problems which plagued him in the past are coming back around during this new round of scrutiny.

Obama And Ellison:  Separated At Birth.  The combination of Black Muslim ideology and Marxism is something that courses through the veins of Obama and Ellison.  So why is Obama opposing the Ellison bid?  The answer is that Obama is smarter than Ellison.  Obama has watched his words more carefully, and concealed his ideological predisposition when he ran for president, while Ellison is out of the closet about it.  He not only has links to the Black Muslims of Louis Farrakhan, but he defended a member of the Weather Underground spin-off, the Symbionese Liberation Army.  Plus, he's an outspoken critic of the state of Israel.

Nation of Islam Calls Keith Ellison 'Cowardly' for Repudiating Louis Farrakhan.  The Nation of Islam is calling out Rep. Keith Ellison (D., Minn.) for running away from his prior support of Louis Farrakhan as he campaigns to be named chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  In an editorial published in The Final Call, a newspaper that was founded by Farrakhan and serves as the mouthpiece for the Nation of Islam, Ellison is taken to task for his "cowardly and baseless repudiation" of Farrakhan.  "Ellison and those who would misuse the Minister's name for their personal advancement must be confronted and their hypocrisy and cowardice must be condemned," wrote the paper's editor, Richard B. Muhammad.

Saudi Arabian Family at Center of Domestic Violence Scandal Gave Keith Ellison Thousands.  The four sons of a Saudi Arabian billionaire — including one who was recently convicted for assaulting his wife — have all contributed thousands to Rep. Keith Ellison (D., Minn.), who is one of the frontrunners to become the new chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  The family of Nasser Al-Rashid, an adviser to the Saudi royal family who has been listed as one of the world's wealthiest men, came under increased scrutiny in the past year due to political spending in the United States.  Al-Rashid himself has given millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation and his children have poured nearly $600,000 into campaigns for Democrats across the country.

Watchdog group to file ethics complaint against Keith Ellison.  A conservative watchdog group plans to file an ethics complaint Monday against Rep. Keith Ellison, accusing the Minnesota Democrat of improperly using his official congressional resources in his bid to become the next chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  The Washington-based Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust, a nonprofit group, charges in the complaint it plans to file with the House ethics committee that Mr. Ellison violated rules by promoting his candidacy for DNC chair on several occasions on his official Twitter account.

With Ellison inside the Nation of Islam.  Working from public documents and my own interviews in 2006, I constructed a picture of Keith Ellison as a serious long-time advocate of the Nation of Islam. [...] Ellison's past and his continuing deceptions about it have emerged anew as open issues in connection with his current bid to lead the Democratic Party.  Following Ellison, the Star Tribune portrayed Ellison's involvement with the Nation of Islam as limited in time and extent.  Explicating his May 2006 letter to the Jewish Community Relations Council, Ellison told the Star Tribune's Rochelle Olson that he took up with the Nation of Islam for some 18 months around the time of the Million Man March in 1995.  Olson occasionally regurgitated Ellison's 18-month line as a fact and the Star Tribune's Allison Sherry now cheerleads for Ellison in the same blinkered and misleading fashion.

AFL-CIO Endorses Keith Ellison For DNC Chair.  The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) endorsed U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison for Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Thursday.  "Representative Ellison meets the high standard working people expect from leaders of our political parties," AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said in a statement.  "He is a proven leader who will focus on year-round grassroots organizing to deliver for working families across America," he continued.  The AFL-CIO's executive council voted overwhelmingly to endorse Ellison to lead the DNC, according to a statement from the Federation.  Several candidates for the post have sought out the endorsement of the AFL-CIO, which represents 12.5 million workers and is the nation's largest union.

The DNC Has a Political Death Wish.  Democrats are doubling down on the secular socialist left.  Bernie Sanders and fembot Elizabeth Warren have been elevated to leadership positions.  Yet the religious right is served, too.  The Democrat politburo is about to make Representative Keith Ellison of Minnesota chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  The DNC default candidate appears to be Howard Dean.  Yes, Howard is back.  Ellison is to Obama as Trotsky might have been to Stalin, from the frying pan into the fire.  Ellison makes the Reverend Jeremiah Wright look like a choir girl.  Mister Ellison is the first black and the first Muslim to represent Minnesota in Congress.  He was the first congressman to insist he be sworn in on a Koran.  But Ellison is not any run-of-the-mill Muslim.  He is a native-born American — yet another Nation of Islam converso.  Indeed, Ellison once did more than a little official front-running for the NOI, where Elijah Muhammad and Louis Farrakhan have pride of place.

The essential truth about what Keith Ellison would bring to the DNC.  Ellison represents the extreme left wing of the Democratic Party, just when the party — if it is to win again — must move to the center in order to bring back the voters it lost to Trump.  The Democrats didn't lose because their candidates weren't left enough.  They won the votes of liberals.  The radical voters they lost to Jill Stein were small in number and are not likely to be influenced by the appointment of Ellison.  The centrist voters they lost to Trump will only be further alienated by the appointment of a left-wing ideologue, who seems to care more about global issues than jobs in Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan.  Ellison's selection certainly wouldn't help among Jewish voters in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania or pro-Israel Christian voters around the country.  Ellison's sordid past associations with Louis Farrakhan — the longtime leader of the Nation of Islam — will hurt him in Middle America, which has little appetite for Farrakhan's anti-American ravings.

Black Congressmen Refuse To Condemn Ellison's Past Proposal For A 'Black State'.  Several Democratic members of the Congressional Black Caucus Tuesday refused to denounce Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison's call for a black state.  One congressman stated, "I don't see anything really objectionable."  The Daily Caller News Foundation recently reported on columns Minnesota Rep. Ellison wrote under a pen name while in law school.  In one of them he called for a black state in southeastern American states.

DNC Chair Candidate Rep. Keith Ellison Met with Hamas Fundraiser Mohammed al-Hanooti.  Keith Ellison, who is campaigning to become Democratic National Committee chairman, met with Hamas fundraiser Mohammed al-Hanooti at a 2009 campaign fundraiser for Virginia House of Delegates candidate Esam Omeish.  Ellison was the keynote speaker at the event.  Last week Chuck Ross at The Daily Caller reported on the appearance of Ellison at the Omeish campaign event, noting that Omeish had previously called for Palestinians to follow "the jihad way" against Israel.

Brilliant — Howard Dean Drops Out of DNC Race Paving Way for Keith Ellison.  Oh, the good news just keeps on coming.  We are one step closer to actually seeing Keith Ellison as the Chairman of the DNC.  We should do everything possible to ensure his success in this quest.

Dem Rep Ellison:  House Democrats Will Do Nothing But 'Vote No' Under Trump.  Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, widely considered a frontrunner to be the next Democratic National Committee chair, says House Democrats will do nothing but "vote no" in the coming years under the new Trump administration.  Ellison, who has faced questions over whether he can juggle both working in Congress and rebuilding a depleted Democratic Party, defended himself at a party meeting on Friday [12/2/2016] by suggesting that working as a Democratic congressman won't require much effort.

Sanders Supporters Withhold DNC Donations Unless Ellison Is Elected.  Post-election, the Democratic Party establishment has strongly opposed calls for introspection and reform after their coalescing around Hillary Clinton proved to be an utter failure.  Sen. Charles Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi were elected to serve as the Democratic Party leaders in Congress.  Both were predictable, though disappointing, as they are corporate-friendly, establishment picks in the extreme.  In February, progressives have the opportunity to push for a new Democratic National Committee (DNC) chair, after the previous two, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and current interim chair Donna Brazile, were exposed for violating the neutrality their positions bound them to during the Democratic Primary.  Sen. Bernie Sanders has called for Rep. Keith Ellison to serve as the new DNC chair, rather than another Clinton campaign surrogate.

Keith Ellison's Disinformation Campaign.  Confronted by his own words and facing a direct threat to his bid to become the next Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman, U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison flagrantly lied Thursday [11/30/2016].  We are releasing the full audio and transcript to prove this.  Two days earlier, the Investigative Project on Terrorism released audio of Ellison during a 2010 political fundraiser, criticizing what he saw as the inappropriate and disproportionate influence Israel carries over American foreign policy.

Keith Ellison's Student Anti-Capitalist And Anti-Police Activism.  In the wake of communist-fueled anti-police sentiment resulting in relentless, brutal attacks on America's law enforcement officials, a look at prospective DNC leader Keith Ellison's radical anti-police and anti-capitalist history is in order.  As Trevor Loudon reveals in his film the Enemies Within, Keith Ellison is a "perfect example of the Muslim/Marxist alliance."  In his "student radical days," the young Marxist was condemning capitalism and "police brutality" around the same time he converted to Islam.  In 1989, Keith Ellison was featured in "Forward Motion," the now-defunct print magazine of the Freedom Road Socialist Organization — the same group that eventually spawned the "Black Lives Matter" movement.  The article was titled "Battling the Rise in Police Brutality" and is not found online.

Ellison Cancels New York Times Interview to Avoid Questions About Farrakhan.  Keith Ellison, the Minnesota congressman who is seeking the chairmanship the Democratic National Committee, is beginning to feel the heat for his past profession of radical views and associations with extremists.  At the New York Times, Jonathan Martin and Maggie Haberman report that "some Democrats" are concerned about Ellison's defense of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who has made anti-Semitic and anti-white pronouncements for decades.  As the Times notes, Ellison defended Farrakhan in the 1990s, saying he was not an anti-Semite in a 1995 Minneapolis newspaper column that was first reported in The Weekly Standard by Scott W. Johnson.  Ellison, a Muslim who no longer associates with the Nation of Islam, is also to the left of the Democratic party on issues related to Israel.

Professional Antagonist Keith Ellison Likely DNC Head.  In 2008 the DNC made a specific decision to go all-in with full throated radicalism and left-wing ideological moonbattery.  The social justice warriors took over the advocacy reins of the Democrat party.  Progressive purity was the litmus, climate and social justice was the cause celeb.  Obama was the vehicle, emotion drives the brand.  Two years later Democrats killed their own "blue dog" coalition (2010), and suffered the largest electoral defeat in the history of their party.  In 2011 they doubled down in Madison Wisconsin and waged a ground battle, they lost.  Occupy Wall Street (OWS) began smashing windows in Dem strongholds as a visible protest to their defeat.  In 2012 and 2014 the Democrat party loses only amplified across America as one-by-one state legislative houses collapsed under the weight of continual Democrat radicalism.

Levin: 'Why isn't this national news?!'  Democratic Party leadership has announced their overwhelming support for Rep Keith Ellison, D-Minn. to become the new DNC chair.  The left-wing congressman has past ties to the Nation of Islam, the Muslim Brotherhood, and holds very dangerous policy positions.  Yet, the mainstream media are pretending as if none of that is the least bit controversial.  "Why isn't this national news?!" shouted Mark Levin Wednesday night on his radio program, before explaining who Ellison really is.  [Audio clip]

Rep. Keith Ellison Announces Candidacy for Chairman of the DNC.  Minnesota congressman Keith Ellison has officially announced his bid for chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  Ever since Hillary Clinton's defeat at the hands of President-Elect Donald Trump, the Democratic Party has fallen into a state of disarray and panic.  The election has prompted calls for new leadership, and as a popular progressive who recognized Trump's chances of victory early on, Ellison was quickly pegged as a potential candidate for the party's chair.

Who is Keith Ellison?  Left-wing congressman with past ties to Nation of Islam wants DNC job.  In an attempt to stave off a civil war in the ranks, Democratic leaders are scrambling to unite behind a candidate for the party's chairmanship — and have landed for now on a Louis Farrakhan-linked congressman who once called for Dick Cheney's impeachment and compared George W. Bush to Hitler.  Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., [...] is firmly on the party's left — he has a fax line in his office, but his website says they will not respond to faxes "for environmental reasons."  He backed Bernie Sanders during the primaries, even introducing him at the convention.

Why Is a Sitting US Congressman Speaking at a Jihadist-Associated Convention?  Per the program and screenshot [...] from the ISNA website, United States Representative Keith Ellison (Democrat, 5th District, MN) is slated to speak at this key gathering of Muslim Brotherhood affiliates, front groups, and leadership on Saturday, 5 September 2015.  His topic, "Exploring the Parallels of Islam and the America's Labor Movement," offers a glimpse of the U.S. Brotherhood strategy to co-opt oppression and victimization narratives of the civil rights movement and working class in America.  Of note, Mr. Ellison has received at least $136,092 in financing from Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated organizations since April 2006 and recently participated in June 2014 as a keynote speaker at the secretive inaugural banquet for the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), the first political activist group in this country to be openly associated with the jihadist Muslim Brotherhood.

Keith Ellison For Dummies.  After he unexpectedly won the endorsement of the DFL nominating convention for Minnesota's Fifth District congressional seat on May 6, 2006, Keith Ellison faced a serious problem.  The problem was how to deal with his well-known involvement with the Nation of Islam.  Had Ellison not managed to dispose of the problem, his candidacy would likely have been irreparably weakened in the competitive DFL primary field.  Ellison chose to deal with the problem by writing an audacious letter to the Jewish Community Relations Council on May 28, 2006.  In the letter, Ellison staked his campaign on three assertions:  That his involvement with the Nation of Islam was limited to a period of 18 months around the time of the Million Man March in 1995, that he was unaware of the Nation of Islam's anti-Semitism and that he terminated his involvement with the Nation of Islam when he became aware of it.  Instead of undertaking any investigation of these assertions, the Minneapolis Star Tribune has reported the assertions and repeated them as facts ever since.  Yet each of these assertions is demonstrably false.  Their falsehood is easily established by newspaper accounts documenting Ellison's activities, speeches and beliefs over the relevant period of time.

Democrats Should Dump Pelosi, Abandon Ellison for DNC.  Few have stepped up to question why the party would elevate Ellison, who has a past connection to Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam and famously compared the 9/11 attacks to the Reichstag Fire.  Though Ellison, an African-American who is the first Muslim to serve in Congress, later walked back his involvement with the Nation of Islam by agreeing the group was anti-Semitic, he would be an easy target for a party that can no longer win the heartland.  Breitbart, no shock, has labeled Ellison a "radical leftist."

Keith Ellison took a trip to Mecca funded by the Muslim Brotherhood!  The man currently running to be the head of the DNC took a trip to Mecca back in 2008 on the dime of a group founded by the Muslim Brotherhood.  And then he failed to disclose the trip altogether until the House Ethics committee made him do it.

Muslim Brotherhood-Tied Group Paid for Keith Ellison to Visit Mecca in 2008.  The House Ethics Committee opened an investigation into Rep. Keith Ellison (D., Minn.) after he failed to disclose that a group founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood paid for him to make a pilgrimage to the Islamic holy site of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.  Top Democrats have considered shifting to the left by electing Ellison party chairman, but critics say his previous association with radical groups should disqualify him from the leadership role.  Ellison has associated with the Muslim American Society, a Virginia-based group founded by Muslim Brotherhood members in 1993 to act as the "overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States," according to federal prosecutors in 2007.  The United Arab Emirates recently added the group to a list of terrorist organizations.

The Trouble With Keith Ellison.  I have followed Ellison's career since he secured the endorsement of the Fifth congressional district Democratic-Farmer-Labor convention in 2006, against the handpicked successor of long-time incumbent Martin Sabo when Sabo was to step down.  Ellison presented himself to the convention as the leftward-most viable candidate to succeed Sabo and dared the delegates to vote their true views.  It was a winning argument at the convention, though it resulted in a competitive four-way primary for the Democratic nomination that September.  Ellison prevailed in the primary with 42 percent of the vote.  It's the last truly competitive election in which Ellison has run.  I'm doubtful that Ellison is the man to lead the Democrats out of the political wilderness in which they find themselves at the moment.  His district is heavily Democratic.  Republicans are able to recruit candidates to oppose Ellison, but the exercise is a formality.

The Very Liberal Views of the Leading DNC Chairman Contender.  The leading candidate to be the next chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., has said he wants the Democratic Party to come out against the Second Amendment, compared the 9/11 attacks to the Nazi Reichstag fire, and was affiliated with the controversial Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam.  Ellison, the co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and supporter of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during the Democratic presidential primaries, once said eventual nominee Hillary Clinton would have to prove she's not a Republican to get his support.

Democrats Must Scrutinize Keith Ellison's Anti-Semitic Past And Ties To Radical Islam.  Despite the furor over Trump aide Steve Bannon's alleged anti-Semitism, there's been virtually no media attention paid to the man likely to become the next chair of the Democratic National Committee, Cong.  Keith Ellison (D-MN).  The man poised to head the Democratic Party was a spokesman for the Nation of Islam well into his 30's who publicly spewed anti-Semitism and later in life as a Congressional candidate knowingly accepted $50,000 in campaign contributions given and raised by Islamic radicals who openly supported Islamic terrorism and were leaders of front groups for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Louis Farrakhan's First Congressman.  With the exception of columnist Katherine Kersten, the [Minneapolis] Star Tribune has scrupulously avoided examining Ellison's long train of troubling associations, foremost among them his ties to the Nation of Islam.  Ellison's record also includes a multitude of embarrassments of the traditional kind.  He fell afoul of the IRS after failing to pay $25,000 in income taxes; he ignored fines that he had incurred for parking tickets and moving violations so numerous that his driver's license was suspended more times than he can remember; he was fined for willful violation of Minnesota's campaign finance reporting law.  It amounts to a striking pattern of lawbreaking since he undertook the practice of law in 1990.  But it was the link to the Nation of Islam that stood as the most serious impediment to Ellison's primary campaign.

Dems pushing for Muslim head of DNC, but look what we discovered.  Debbie Wasserman Schultz had to resign from her position as DNC chair among ethics concerns, and the woman who replaced her as interim chair (Donna Brazile) would've had to do the same, had she been the official chair.  The man that a number of progressives are backing for DNC chair next, Keith Ellison, will face charges of much more than ethics concerns, however.  Let's take a look into the man's past.  He's the first Muslim elected to Congress, which I guess we're supposed to believe somehow qualifies him for a position regardless of any other factors.  Like his connection to the radical Nation of Islam.

This is from 2010:
Keith Ellison's Stealth Jihad.  "Who is Keith Ellison?" There are no simple answers.  Throughout a checkered career, this liberal American politician has adopted many guises and presented different messages.  He is an African-American who has moved from the fringe to the center of politics.  He is a Democrat with a predictably liberal voting record, yet he consorts with groups and individuals that represent a threat to democracy and America.  He is a convert to Islam but challenges Islamic orthodoxy on numerous issues legislatively.  He identifies strongly with his faith, yet the details of his conversion and his current sentiments as a Muslim are obscure.

DNC Prepares To Elevate Muslim Congressman Ellison To Chief.  If you thought the Democrats would respond to Donald Trump's stunning victory in the 2016 presidential election by attempting to woo back some of the white blue-collar voters they lost over the last eight years, you're sadly mistaken:  they'll be doubling down on the Obama coalition.  The proof:  on Friday [11/11/2016], support built dramatically among Democratic insiders like incoming Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) as head of the Democratic National Committee.  Ellison is a black Muslim from Minnesota — not exactly a reflection of the crowd the Democrats lost in 2016.
