Kamala's Turn in the Sun:  California Democrat Thrust into Spotlight in SCOTUS Battle.  America faces yet another challenge ahead of the swiftly approaching presidential election, and it will thrust a major player, Senate Judiciary Committee member Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), back into the spotlight after weeks of largely avoiding it.  Allies and critics alike have noticed Harris's unusual absence from the spotlight — particularly striking, given her role as Joe Biden's (D) running mate.  While she has lodged attacks at Trump, she has largely conducted herself in the same manner as Biden, remaining relatively publicly subdued and reserving her sharpest attacks for Twitter rather than during in-person campaign events, of which there have been few.  While the exact reasons remain uncertain, it is possible that Democrats fear her more radical views — and history — could turn away more moderate voters, especially given the widespread belief that Biden's running mate will assume office within his first term.

A failed attempt to act black:
Kamala Harris names Tupac 'best rapper alive'.  Vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris called Tupac Shakur the "best rapper alive" during an interview at the NAACP's virtual convention Friday — even though the legendary emcee has been dead for more than two decades.  "Best rapper alive?" CNN commentator Angela Rye asked the Oakland native.  "Tupac," Harris answered with little hesitation before Rye reminded her that the West Coast icon had passed away long ago.  "Not alive, I know, I keep doing that," Harris said with a laugh.  Tupac has notoriously been the subject of baseless conspiracy theories that he faked his own death when he was fatally shot in 1996, which Rye appeared to jokingly reference.

Proof positive Kamala Harris is a lying phony.  Even in a profession known for phoniness, Kamala Harris stands out as remarkably fake.  We expect politicians to lie — "what a beautiful baby!" — but we also expect them to be reasonably skilled at it.  Being unable to convincingly name a favorite thing takes a lot of experience in counterfeiting feelings.  Yet, yesterday [9/25/2020], in the softest of softball interviews on CNN, where she was asked about her various "favorites" — roast chicken is her "go-to" dish to cook (as if she spends a lot of time in time kitchen wearing an apron that says "kiss the cook") — she stumbled and revealed that she only pretends to listen to rap music.  Of course, liking rap music is believed to be essential to forge an identity as somehow African-American when none of her ancestors ever lived in the United States.  The closest her lineage comes to the experience of slavery is as slave-owners, according to her Jamaican father.  Joe Biden's handlers chose her as his running mate only because her darkish skin tone was supposed to fool blacks into thinking she is one of them and feels the pain of slavery that lies a century and a half in the past.  Watch below as very friendly CNN interviewer Angela Rye asks her to name "the best rapper alive."  [Video clip]

Kamala Harris Praises 'Brilliance' of Black Lives Matter and Its Marxist Founders.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) praised the "brilliance" of the Black Lives Matter movement and its founders in a conversation with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) on Friday [9/25/2020].  Harris, who is Joe Biden's running mate on the Democratic Party presidential ticket, was asked specifically to respond to claims that Black Lives Matter is a "terrorist" organization, which the interviewer attributed to President Donald Trump.

Kamala Harris praises BLM, says ongoing protests are 'essential' for change in US.  Peaceful protests against racial injustice are critical for the nation's progress and help to keep law enforcement in check, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., said Friday [9/25/2020].  "Nothing that we have achieved that has been about progress, in particular around civil rights, has come without a fight, and so I always am going to interpret these protests as an essential component of evolution in our country — as an essential component or mark of a real democracy," the vice presidential nominee said during the NAACP's national convention.  She added that protests were "necessary" as "the people's voices must be heard, and it is often the people who must speak to get their government to do what it is supposed to do, but may not do naturally unless the people speak loudly — and obviously peacefully."

Harris makes misleading statement on COVID-19 business loans while campaigning in Michigan.  Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris made a misleading claim while campaigning in Michigan on Tuesday regarding the supposed disparities in COVID-19 relief funds to Black restaurant owners, according to a report.  While visiting Flint and Michigan, Harris claimed that out of the hundreds of restaurants in Michigan that received relief funds from the Paycheck Protection Program, only one was Black-owned, The Detroit News reported.

Harris — not Biden — is the real candidate.  [Scroll down]  Make no mistake about it, Harris is the real presidential candidate.  Even now sly references are being made to the "Harris/Biden administration."  The Biden campaign chose Harris, says Marc Thiessen, because — in spite of her appalling record in politics — she is "ideologically flexible."  She is a complete opportunist with no moral center.  She will do as she is told.  Harris will play ball with the leftist gang that wants to continue what Obama began by fundamentally changing America into a leftist state.  Harris has some mitigating characteristics that hide who she really is from the voters.  She is a woman, she is a "person of color," and she appears to be part of the traditional Democratic Party.  In reality, she is all the way to the Left.  She believes in the Green New Deal, income redistribution, open borders, defunding/disbanding the police, repealing the first and second amendments, identity politics, equality of outcome, and — ultimately — socialism.

Newt Gingrich Puts Kamala Harris In a No-Win Situation Over Amy Coney Barrett.  Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich foresees President Donald Trump nominating Amy Coney Barrett as the woman to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court, but having the tactical mind he does, Gingrich wants to make it clear that this is more of a problem for the Democrats than they think.  Barrett is a devout Catholic, and as such, effectively dared Democrats to attack her on those grounds, specifically potential Democrat VP Kamala Harris, who has a history of anti-Catholic bias.  "If President Trump nominates Amy Coney Barrett, Notre Dame Law Professor, Appeals Court judge, mother of 7 (2 adopted from Haiti), clerk for Scalia, devout Catholic, it will pose a unique challenge for Kamala Harris — the most anti-Catholic bigot nominated in over a century," tweeted Gingrich.  "Are Democrats prepared to say a devout Catholic is by definition unfit to serve on the Supreme Court?" he continued.  "If no pro-life Justice is acceptable then no faithful Catholic, Evangelical or Orthodox Jew can be considered.  Are Democrats really prepared to alienate that many Americans?"

Green Nazi Political Vegetarianism.  Kamala Harris recently warned about the great impact meat production has on planetary ecology and that more vegetables in the American diet would lighten such a detrimental environmental impact.  Such comments are rooted in the Green New Deal that is rigged to drastically reduce livestock production.  Cows in particular are singled out for all of the methane they produce that leads to a significant contribution to greenhouse gases in this country.

Get Ready for President Kamala Harris and VP Nancy Pelosi.  If you think your choice in this election is Trump versus Biden, you're blind, deaf, or really dumb.  Biden's not the candidate.  Biden is just a placeholder.  A brand name at the top to scam voters.  But he will never serve as the actual president.  Who's dumb enough to not see that?  The real behind-the-scenes winners will be Kamala Harris as president and Nancy Pelosi as VP. Add in the infamous radical "Commie Squad" as the cabinet.  That's who's really running the Democrat Party nowadays — Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alyanna Pressley and AOC.  And don't forget Obama on the Supreme Court.

Buried News Reports.  In August, Kenosha, Wisconsin, on-duty local police officers received an anxiety-laden call from a woman about an individual attempting to steal her automobile.  They rushed to the scene and found Jacob Blake who immediately sought to get away from the police.  Recognizing him as the very individual involved in a previous felony sexual assault, the officers approached him, noted that he was holding a knife, and considered him dangerous.  Ordered to drop the knife, Blake refused and was tasered twice with no effect.  Blake then attacked one of the policemen causing two officers to draw their pistols. [...] Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris contacted Blake by telephone and told him she was "proud of him and how he is working through his pain."  The man she is "proud" of had previously been charged with felony third-degree assault, trespassing, and disorderly conduct.  And he was at it again with evidence that he had also drawn money using his victim's stolen credit card.  Kamala Harris made no attempt to discuss these matters with the Kenosha police who found themselves required to use force to subdue a criminal the Democratic Party's candidate for Vice President is proud of.

The Biden Hoax.  Wavering voters need to wrap their minds around this fact:  President Trump isn't squaring off against Joe Biden.  He's battling the cabal that Biden is fronting.  If through some perversion, some warping of sensibilities — or epic fraud — Biden is elected president, it isn't just Kamala Harris who becomes de facto president.  It's the entire depraved enterprise that comprises the Democratic Party and the left.  Harris may well be the General Secretary in a "Harris Administration," but you can bet that she'd have a Politburo to answer to.  If Democrats steal the election, then for years ahead, a spiderweb of lies, fraud, and venality will stretch across America.  America will be run by some amalgam of Sacramento, Portland, and Chicago — or, in other words, some combo of Big Brother, lawlessness, and corruption.  The country may not free itself for decades.  Or the nation could break apart.

The Harris-Biden Administration.  [Scroll down]  Biden is deteriorating.  There's just no kind or delicate way around this point, although of course we don't relish the man's decline or take the suffering of old age lightly.  Had Biden been left at home to watch the twilight of his years descend with dignity, we would wish him only the best.  As it is, however, the Democrats have forced us to state the obvious [...] The man can't hold a microphone steady at this point, let alone form a coherent sentence.  The person who is rubbing her hands with delight at this abusive spectacle, though, is Kamala Harris.  Her complete lack of any redeeming qualities, or even any qualities that appeal to the electorate, has not stopped her from making a very serious bid for the highest office in the land.  Harris — implausibly, since she won not a single delegate during her own presidential bid — has a real shot at this thing, and she can taste it.  Not even her own voters like her.  But that won't stop her.

Family says Harris and Newsom trespassed for photo op.  A family who lost their Fresno area home in the Creek Fire said Gov. Gavin Newsom and vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris went on their property without permission.  Newsom and Harris, in Fresno County to see areas ravaged by the fire, toured the Pine Ridge Elementary School on Tuesday when they crossed the road to walk around the destroyed house.  "Those chimneys, they remind me — when you look at a neighborhood that's been wiped out, those chimneys remind me of tombstones," remarked Harris.  The homeowners, not enthused that Harris used the ashes of their property as a backdrop for the press, said neither she nor Newsom had the right to be there.

Kamala Harris Protected [is] by Rifles She Wants to Ban Americans from Owning.  During a recent trip to Miami, Florida, Democrat vice presidential hopeful Kamala Harris was protected by Secret Service agents using variants of the very rifles she wants to ban Americans from owning.  The Daily Mail published an article showing at least one Secret Service agent with a AR-platform rifle.  The rifle is outfitted with optics, a flashlight, and a greater-than-10-round magazine.  On August 31, 2018, Breitbart News reported more than nine million AR-platform rifles were manufactured for U.S. sales during Barack Obama's presidency.  By the late summer/early fall of 2019, when Robert "Beto" O'Rourke, Kamala Harris, and Joe Biden pushed a mandatory buyback of such rifles during the Democrat primary campaign, the National Shooting Sports Foundation estimated there were 16 million-plus privately owned AR-15s in the United States.

They're Not Gonna Stop.  The Democrat vice presidential candidate's background as a prosecutor made her so unpalatable to the Democrats' radicalized base that she failed to pick up a single delegate during her own presidential bid.  Sanders's delegates in California even vocally opposed Harris getting the VP nod.  But just three days after the Minneapolis 3rd police precinct was burned to the ground by BLM/Antifa rioters, "Kamala the Cop" called for donations for the bail fund responsible for springing alleged murderers, rapists, and rioters from behind bars.  Senator Bernie Sanders — whose own campaign workers threatened violence if he were not nominated — recently confirmed Harris's view when he intimated that the campaign to pressure the Democrat ticket further leftward would continue well after the election: "the day after [Biden] is inaugurated we are going to rally the American people to make certain that we implement the most progressive agenda in modern American history."

Harris-Biden gaffes spark questions over Democrat ticket leadership.  As American voters worry about Joe Biden's mental fitness to serve as the leader of the Free World, recent slip-ups from both the gaffe king himself and his running mate Kamala Harris are sparking widespread confusion.  While speaking to military families during a campaign event in Florida Tuesday, Biden appeared to suggest his vice presidential pick is the one at the top of the ticket for the Democrats' bid for the White House.  Many on social media suggested it may have been a "Freudian slip." The clip was trending on Twitter throughout the day.  Furthermore, Harris appeared to make the same mistake during a virtual roundtable with small business owners in Arizona just one day prior.

Dog whistle:
Who's the Boss?  Kamala Harris Speaks About a "Harris Administration" in Virtual Arizona Speech.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) made the one gaffe a vice presidential nominee should never make when she spoke of a "Harris administration" in a virtual campaign speech Saturday [9/12/2020].  In normal times this would be seen as a harmless gaffe to have a laugh over.  However, with running mate Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden's mental condition perceived by observers to have deteriorated this year, such a statement can be seen not as a blunder but as a slip of the mask revealing who would be actually be calling the shots in a Biden-Harris administration.  Harris immediately cleaned up the gaffe.

As Plugs Hides from COVID, Kamala Preps for "Harris Administration".  [Scroll down]  She literally said nothing in two minutes and 40 seconds.  It was just a bunch of words strung together that are designed to sound impressive, but they added up to nothing other than the supposed faux pas, "The Harris administration together with Joe Biden."  So we need to unpack that.  She clearly believes or has been told that she's gonna be president sooner rather than later if the Biden ticket wins.  And I bet you she's also been told other things, like you may be president, but you're really not gonna be.  Whoever it is running and orchestrating the Biden campaign will continue to be president.  You're just gonna take over as the placeholder.  But she may not.  She probably has agreed to that now, but when it happens, if it happens, if she actually ever became president because Biden quits or whatever, she's not going to let these guys tell her what she can and can't.  It's not gonna be pretty.

Kamala Harris accidentally touts plans under a 'Harris administration' during virtual roundtable.  Kamala Harris, Joe Biden's running mate in the 2020 election, raised eyebrows on Monday evening after she accidentally touted economic plans under a "Harris administration."  Speaking during a virtual roundtable with small business owners in Arizona, Harris vowed that they will have an ally in the White House with the campaign's "Build Back Better" initiative.  However, the California senator appeared to briefly suggest that she was at the top of the Democratic ticket.  "A Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States," she said.  She quickly clarified, "The Biden-Harris administration will provide access to $100 billion in low-interest loans and investments from minority business owners."

Scott Walker To Kamala:  You Visited Jacob Blake.  How About Visiting Ambushed L.A. Deputies In Your Own State.  On Sunday morning, former GOP Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, taking note of the two Los Angeles County deputies who were shot in the head in a cold-blooded ambush as they sat in their patrol car Saturday night, threw down the gauntlet to Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who is a senator from California.  Walker wrote, referencing Harris' visit to Jacob Blake, who was shot by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, "Will @kamalaharris visit deputies who were shot (31-year-old mom & 24 year-old) in her state?  She visited someone in WI who was charged with felony 3rd-degree sexual assault and said she was proud of him.  She and @JoeBiden need to side with law enforcement and denounce radicals."

Kamala Harris and AOC craft crazy climate law.  Kamala Harris did not mention climate change in her acceptance speech, but she did not have to.  She talked a lot about justice and justice is now code for climate.  Thanks to Harris and AOC, the strange beast of "climate justice" is now a big part of the Democrat's agenda.  In fact the team of Harris and AOC has now codified the concept of climate justice.  Just before the convention they jointly dropped the Climate Equity Act into the Senate and House hoppers.  The Equity Act does not mean that everyone gets their fair share of climate.  The stated goal is for the Federal Government to adjust its investments and regulations to favor those who are supposedly most involved with climate change, or something like that.

What New Deal? Kamala Harris Lands in Giant Private Jet, Walks Straight to Giant SUV Motorcade.  Vice Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris raised eyebrows among some of her climate change supporters on social media Thursday [9/10/2020] after arriving in Miami in a private jet and being escorted into her SUV motorcade.  "From a fossil fuel guzzling private plane to a fossil fuel guzzling SUV.  Democrats don't think the rules they want for everybody else should apply to them!" responded the Trump campaign.

Who's the Real Joe Biden?  Is there any such thing as "the real Joe Biden" in the sense of an actual, breathing human being with enduring loyalties and principles?  His long political record and recent behavior provide some idea.  The choice of Kamala Harris as running mate is one indication.  Harris has often been described as a "politician on the make," someone who will do whatever is expedient.  Writing for RealClearPolitics, Debra Saunders calls Harris a "progressive opportunist."  Yves Smith, looking through her less than progressive record as California prosecutor, would alter that to "opportunist to the core."  Three months ago, Harris almost knocked Biden out of the primaries with her cunning debate performance — now who cares if he opposed bussing?  She gave every indication of thinking Biden was unfit for the presidency — now she thinks he's perfectly fit.  What she seems to care about is being one heartbeat away from the presidency — with a president who might be in very poor health.

Kamala Harris's embrace of Jacob Blake is the latest blow to #MeToo.  It's been quite a week for Kamala Harris.  In addition to promulgating anti-vaccination conspiracy theories about any coronavirus vaccine released during the Trump presidency, she met with the family of Jacob Blake, a man famous for fleeing from the police with his children in tow when he violated an existing restraining order after being charged with sexual assault.  Blake has been famously lionized by the Left after being shot by the police when officers tried to arrest him as he reached in his car (telling them after the shooting that he had a knife, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel).  Unlike the deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, both of whom did not pose a semblance of deadly threats to officers and were preventable, it's unclear if any feasible policy change would have prevented Blake's shooting.  After all, Blake subverted multiple nonlethal attempts to subdue him, and by all available evidence, the police in question only resorted to shooting him when the officers had reasonable suspicion that he was reaching for a knife.

Megyn Kelly Hammers Kamala Harris for Her Visit to Indicted Sex Offender Jacob Blake.  On Sunday, Democrat Vice President-nominee Kamala Harris visited Kenosha, WI, to hold court at the bedside of Jacob Blake.  Blake, if you recall, is the man shot in the back seven times by Kenosha police. [...] Two things are notable from this visit, other than the mere cravenness.  Harris is attempting to rehabilitate Blake as some helpless, faultless victim of police brutality rather than taking the honorable course here and admitting that Blake worked very, very hard to get shot.  There is a case to be made that some police officers in some jurisdictions act with unjustifiable force on some occasions.  Blake is simply not the example you want to use if you are trying to make that case.  The second notable point is she never visited with the woman who Blake sexually assaulted, whose home he invaded, and whose car he tried to take.  Megyn Kelly was having none of it.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris need to quit playing politics with COVID-19 vaccine.  Are Joe Biden and Kamala Harris trying to prolong the pandemic?  That might be the result of their reckless efforts to erode confidence in a vaccine — even as they blame President Trump for doing that.  "I would want to see what the scientists said" about any vaccine, Biden huffed Monday.  "I want full transparency." That is:  Don't trust a vaccine OK'd by Team Trump.  Harris was even more blunt:  She'd "trust the word of public-health experts" but not the president — and insisted those experts won't have the final say:  They "will be muzzled, they will be suppressed, they will be sidelined."  What an appalling insult to the integrity of Dr. Tony Fauci and others.

Kamala Harris Doesn't Take Questions At Milwaukee Event Billed As "Roundtable Discussion".  At the end of a campaign event billed as a "roundtable discussion" with union workers and black business owners in Milwaukee on Monday, Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris simply walked away, saying "I think we're all done here," when a co-host passed her the mic and called for questions.  The Biden campaign's refusal to hold press conferences or even answer questions outside of formal interviews is one of several new lines of attack the Trump campaign has deployed this month.  "I once lived in Wisconsin, it is part of my story," Harris told the audience as she walked away.

Kamala Harris Told Jacob Blake, Facing Sexual Assault Charge, She Was 'Proud' of Him:  Crump.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) told Jacob Blake Jr. on Monday that she is "proud of him and how he is working through his pain," according to attorney Benjamin Crump, who represents the Blake family.  Blake was shot seven times from behind in a confrontation with Kenosha, Wisconsin, police on Aug. 23. He was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down.  The incident sparked local riots, and Blake became the latest victim to be championed by the Black Lives Matter movement.  At the time of the confrontation, there was a warrant for Blake's arrest for "third-degree sexual assault, trespassing and disorderly conduct," according to the Associated Press.

Kamala Harris:  Mask Mandate Not About "Big Brother," It Is Making A "Sacrifice For The Collective".  Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris strongly rebuked President Donald Trump for politicizing the issue of wearing a pandemic mask during an interview Sunday with CNN's Dana Bash.  Harris, minutes earlier in the same interview, said she would be skeptical of a coronavirus vaccine distributed by the Trump administration but said a big part of the problem with pandemic response "is that we have a president of the United States who made this a partisan issue and made it a political issue."  "This is not about punishment.  It's not about big brother," Harris said about wearing a mask.

Harris Flip-Flops:  Never Mind My "False Choice" Claim Last Year, Let's Not Ban Fracking After All.  Alternate headline:  Candidate checks electoral map, discovers why Pennsylvania's called the Keystone State.  At least Kamala Harris didn't try to pretend that this was her position all along, as Joe Biden has for the last few weeks, but that doesn't make this flip-flop much less crass.  CNN's Dana Bash sets this up as comfortably as possible for Harris, who now calls a fracking ban a "false choice" — even though Harris demanded one while campaigning last year.

Sometimes, Kamala Harris is one seriously dumb bunny.  People with ties to San Francisco have long known that Kamala Harris is ambitious, but not too bright.  Her success over the years came about because she latched onto then-Mayor Willie Brown, even though Kamala was 30 years younger than the still-married Brown.  Love him or hate him, Brown is one of the smartest people in politics and, even after the two ended their relationship, he regularly advised Kamala as she climbed up the California political ladder.  It's tough to believe, though, that Kamala spoke to Brown before she jumped with both feet into the Jacob Blake matter.  If they had spoken, I'm reasonably sure that Brown would have told her that a person with her political prominence should never give an opinion about a famous or, worse, politically-charged criminal trial.  Doing so provides an opening for defense counsel to claim that it is impossible to find neutral jurors, forcing a mistrial or even dismissal — that's good for the police (whom I support) but is not the outcome Harris wants.  But Harris may be too big (at least in her mind) to get advice from Willie Brown anymore.  That's the only explanation for why she did this in a CNN interview: [...]

50+ Questions No Reporter Dares Ask Joe Biden And His Campaign.  On Kamala Harris:  VP pick Kamala Harris said she believed the women who accused you of sexual assault, but Biden denied their allegations.  Has Harris changed her position on supporting potential victims of sexual assault?  Why is Harris bailing out rioters, including those who are suspected of shooting at police, murdering a friend, and a convicted sex offender?

Instead Of Fighting Poverty, Kamala Harris Waged War On The Poor.  Catholic News Agency recently quoted several prominent Catholics who were positive about Joe Biden's vice-presidential selection of Kamala Harris.  Donna Toliver Grimes, for example, who serves as the assistant director for African American Affairs in the Secretariat of Cultural Diversity at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, expressed her belief that a Biden-Harris ticket would have a "policy that is favorable to people on the margins."  That's a curious comment, because Harris has spent considerable professional energy oppressing the poor and marginalized.  Before we examine that claim, let's take a step back and revisit the social teachings of the Catholic Church as they relate to the legal status of the poor.

Kamala Harris promises national mask mandate if elected.  Kamala Harris said on Friday [8/28/2020] that a nationwide mask mandate would be among the first orders of business if she and Joe Biden were elected to the White House in November, calling it the "responsible" thing to do.  The Democratic vice presidential nominee expanded on the three-month plan that Biden has promised to enact if he won the White House, explaining that every American would be expected to wear a face covering amid the pandemic.  "Yes," Harris, 55, said when asked if that would be one of their first actions in power during an interview on NBC's "Today."  "It's a standard.  I mean, nobody's going to be punished," Harris continued when asked how it would be enforced.

[...] Harris told a CNN town hall in September 2019 that there was "no question" that she favored banning fracking, "starting with what we can do on day one around public lands."

Kushner: Kamala Harris refused to help with landmark, pro-African-American criminal justice reform.  California Sen. Kamala Harris refused to help craft an overwhelmingly bipartisan bill to reform criminal justice laws, a bill signed into law by President Trump in 2018, White House adviser Jared Kushner revealed Friday [8/21/2020].  In what was meant to be an interview about the historic Israeli-United Arab Emirates peace agreement, CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour instead echoed accusations from Democrats and some in the media that President Trump supported racist birtherism claims against Harris, the presumptive Democratic vice presidential nominee.  In particular, Amanpour claimed that Trump supported a claim by an attorney in a Newsweek essay that, under the 14th Amendment, Harris wasn't eligible to run for the vice presidency based on the circumstances of her U.S. birth.  In response, Kushner said black Americans had achieved record low unemployment during the Trump administration prior to the coronavirus economic contraction.

Final Day of the Democrat Pros and Cons — As PR Pros Combine to Con America.  The reason that so many Americans do not want Kamala Harris has nothing to do with her name or where her parents were born.  Rather, it is because, first of all, she got her opportunity to advance geometrically in politics by cavorting in a manner that is reprehensible.  Her dalliance was open.  It was brazen.  It was with a married man, 31 years her senior who was her state's Democrat Kingmaker.  Once Harris predictably then got from the Kingmaker her good-paying political patronage jobs and gained the opportunities to advance politically up the Democrat ladder, the coveted introductions to the power players in the state's Democrat machine — opportunities that others who would not publicly compromise themselves that way do not typically get — she was on her way in a one-party Democrat state.  That is how her big rise in Democrat politics began.  It was public.

Kamala Harris Won't Motivate Minority Voters.  The Biden campaign is desperate to increase enthusiasm among the minority voters whose support for his candidacy remains so tepid that it threatens his already shrinking chances of winning in November.  The Biden campaign clearly believes that putting a woman of color on the Democratic presidential ticket will convince this portion of the electorate to ignore his well-documented opposition to desegregation and long history of hobnobbing with white supremacists.  The Harris nomination confirms that Biden believes minority voters are idiots.

Kamala Harris: 'Women Have Been Given the Responsibility to Perpetuate the Human Species'.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D.-Calif.), the Democratic vice presidential nominee, said in a Democratic presidential primary debate on Oct. 15, 2019 that "women have been given the responsibility to perpetuate the human species."  Harris was explaining her views about abortion and why, were she president, she would aggressively use federal power to go after state[s] that were placing restrictions on abortion.

Harris Drops Her Mask.  [Scroll down]  While protesting the "loss of normalcy" and the failure of remote learning, Harris will do nothing to oppose the teachers' unions that resist opening classrooms.  She notes the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on blacks, Hispanics, and "indigenous peoples" but blames it on "structural racism," and therefore highlights a need to recreate society on socialist terms.  Moreover, the real virus here, Harris claims, is racism.  She implies that measures on par with required "masking" could apply to dealing with racism, just as she and Biden called for a mask mandate.  If racism is a "public health crisis" we should know her view of the limits on policies to restrain or eliminate it.  Are there any?  Such a totalitarian mentality comes easily to postmodern socialists.  They begin by declaring "we are united by the fundamental belief that every human being is of infinite worth, deserving of compassion, dignity and respect" and end up assailing someone like Justice Kavanaugh on fantastic charges while also ignoring the victims of "righteous" riots.

Kamala Harris — Planned Parenthood's Choice.  David Daleiden heads the Center for Medical Progress, the group that unveiled what really goes on behind the curtain at Planned Parenthood, exposing the ghoulishness of the organization that profits off the destruction of human life and detailing past and future atrocities perpetrated by that organization in a series of revealing and damning videos.  Daleiden's pro-life investigative reporting did not sit well with then California Attorney General Kamala Harris, who made it her mission to cancel Daleiden and his group, raiding his house, seizing his videos, video equipment, and notes, all with the purpose of ending his livelihood, his career, and his freedom.  She prosecuted Daleiden under an obscure, rarely used, and arguably unconstitutional state law.

Kamala's Lies.  [Scroll down]  Harris heavily criticized President Donald Trump's handling of the coronavirus, blaming him for the death toll, the economic contraction, the high unemployment rate, the closure of schools, homelessness, hunger, and poverty.  "The case against Donald Trump and Mike Pence is open and shut.  Just look where they've gotten us, more than 16 million out of work, millions of kids who cannot go back to school, a crisis of poverty, of homelessness afflicting black, brown, and indigenous people the most, a crisis of hunger afflicting one in five mothers who have children that are hungry and tragically, more than 165,000 lives that have been cut short, many with loved ones who never got the chance to say goodbye."  Aside from the fact that Trump has been a huge advocate for the reopening of schools, Harris did not mention that seven of the top ten states with the most COVID deaths are run by Democrats, including New York, which has more deaths than Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Arizona combined.

Why It Should Matter that Kamala Harris Is Not a Natural Born Citizen.  [Scroll down]  Being a natural born citizen has nothing to do with where you are born but strictly to whom you are born — as long as it's to American citizens.  This is the media's and the Democrat Party's great lie going on twelve years now.  There are many ways to become a U.S. citizen, but if you are to seek the office of the president (or the vice president), you must be a child born of American parents.  And it was so blindingly obvious and repetitive that children of citizens of the United States shall be considered natural born citizens irrespective of where they are born that Congress removed the wording during the replacement Naturalization Act of 1795. [...] And now, when the political foot is well on the other side of the aisle, now any challenge is considered a "distraction." What we see is that when there is an obvious case of ineligibility and the media's chosen candidate is a Democrat, such as Barack Obama (father was a British subject, a Kenyan national, on a student visa and was never a naturalized citizen) or Kamala Harris (mother and father both born abroad; one naturalized citizen at the time of birth), the media freak out, attack, and smear Republicans.  Instead of acknowledging they are not natural born citizens or seeking to resolve the issue in a court of law, they choose to circumvent the U.S. Constitution.

Conflict Between Kamala Harris and Joe Biden Is Inevitable.  Vice presidents are usually politicians who got pretty far on their own, and they're human beings; to constantly subordinate oneself to one's boss requires exceptional discipline and self-effacement, something at which politicians don't excel.  Even Biden himself, whom Barack Obama selected under the misimpression that he was finished with running for president, stepped out of line, getting ahead of Obama in calling for legalizing gay marriage during an appearance on a Sunday television talk show.  (The two men had been discussing the matter.)  Obama was not amused, but their relationship survived about as intact as any such partnership has.  There's circumstantial evidence that Biden had hesitations about picking Harris, mainly because of her obvious desire to be president.

Kamala Harris Promises That Joe Biden Will 'End This Pandemic'.  Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) vowed that her running mate Joe Biden "will bring us together to end" the coronavirus pandemic.  "Joe will bring us together to end this pandemic and make sure that we are prepared for the next one," Harris said during her VP acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Wednesday night [8/19/2020].  Harris and other DNC speakers criticized President Donald Trump for the pandemic.  "Donald Trump's failure of leadership has cost lives and livelihoods," she said.  Harris' promise that Biden will end the coronavirus pandemic is not the first disease the Biden campaign has vowed to cure.  Former Vice President Biden vowed to cure cancer during a campaign stop in June 2019.

Kamala Harris would rather talk platitudes than divulge her agenda.  In accepting the Democratic vice presidential nomination, Sen. Kamala Harris relied heavily on platitudes.  That's because Democrats are not eager to highlight their radical agenda.  As is typically the case in vice presidential acceptance speeches, Harris was heavy on biography early on, understandably trying to introduce herself to a national audience that may not be as familiar with her background.  But as the speech veered into a few minutes of what was supposed to be substance, it fell flat.  And it wasn't just because it was delivered from a lectern in Wilmington, Delaware, before a few people spread apart on a set meant to look like a shrunken convention floor.

Kamala Harris chooses 'Pioneer' as her Secret Service code name.  Presumptive vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris has chosen "Pioneer" as her Secret Service code name, according to a report.  Harris chose the moniker, reported by CNN, shortly after being placed under Secret Service protection last week, when she was tapped as presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden's running mate.  The California senator's code name choice appears to be a nod to the historic nature of her nomination, being the first female of color vice presidential nominee.

The Dems Are the Dogs in Trump's Dog-Whistle Politics.  It's no secret that Donald Trump is delighted about Joe Biden's candidacy and the selection of Kamala Harris as running mate.  Biden is so obviously undergoing a cognitive decline it seems almost unfair to criticize him for his failure to function adequately, but this is a presidential election, not a memory cafe.  And Harris is so obviously not disadvantaged in any way as a result of being nonwhite or a woman that any attempt on her part to play the victim card is easily debunked.  And whilst she's obviously been chosen to harvest the black vote, her ancestry is not African-American and therefore she cannot claim any direct connection with those African-Americans whose ancestors were once slaves (her father claims to be descended from Hamilton Brown, an Irish-born sugar-planter).  Expect a lot of race-baiting from Harris in the weeks to come.  The proper response to this is disgust at the cynicism involved.

Queen Kamala's Imperial Aspirations.  Kamala Harris does not want to be the president of the United States.  She wants to be the queen of the post-constitutional remnants of what used to be the United States.  On first reading, this might seem like a hysterical and overblown claim, but it's actually quite easy to support.  All one has to do is read the description of the president's duties in Article II of the Constitution and compare it with anything and everything Harris has ever said she would do if she found herself occupying the post; the two simply do not match up.  In fact, judging by her own words and deeds, she would be much more suited to life as a 17th-century European monarch.  Her real ideological allies are neither Bernie bros nor Biden boosters.  They're the Stuart kings of England — that loathsome dynasty that ruled over the Western-most isles of the Old World during the 1600s.  Harris's utter disdain for legislative checks on executive power and her autocratic disposition toward the machinery of the state make her and these long-dead white men birds of a feather when it comes to statecraft.

California's Blackouts Display The Results Of Kamala Harris's Favored Energy Policy.  Biden's past energy policies were fairly standard fare for old-school Democrats:  massive government spending and regulations to pick winners and losers — the $535 million Solyndra collapse is illustrative.  His current plan is more of the same, spending $2 trillion, some of which will go to buy the silent acceptance of Big Oil.  By comparison, Harris' policies are a radical departure, and, as can be seen in California, fail when confronted with the real world.  Harris partnered with New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the multi-trillion-dollar Green New Deal, an energy plan so ambitious it envisioned a continental network of government-run high-speed trains while grounding America's commercial air fleet.  Likewise, California's high-speed rail project has been cut back from the 380-mile San Francisco to Los Angeles route to a 140-mile Bakersfield to Merced run that few will ever ride, as the costs of the project tripled from $33.6 billion to $98.1 billion.  The train would run on electricity — if it were available.

Mark Levin Blasts Harris' Extreme Record:  Most Anti-American Ever Stated.  Since California Senator Kamala Harris was announced as Democrat Joe Biden's vice presidential running mate last week, the pair's leftist allies in the media have completely ignored her record and given glowing reviews of the decision.  But while the majority of media figures choose to bury or rewrite Harris' record, her extremism still exists and deserves serious scrutiny.  During his Sunday night broadcast on Fox News, conservative radio host and attorney Mark Levin went through her record, exposing it as much more radical than the headlines reveal.  "She is farther left than 97 percent of Democrats in the United States Senate.  She is left of avowed Marxist, Democrat socialist Bernie Sanders.  She's not moderate, she's not a pragmatist like the New York Times and others are trying to tell you," Levin said.

Kamala Harris has the right skin color for Joe Biden ... and nothing else.  Joe Biden selected a running mate based on the color of her skin.  He rejected other candidates based on the color of their skin.  He did this openly and without apology.  Think about that for a moment.  Let that sink in.  In the year 2020, more than six decades after America desegregated public schools, a nominee for president from a major political party brazenly displayed outright racism in picking a running mate.  It is a mockery of everything Martin Luther King fought for.  A perversion of the entire civil rights movement. [...] But the former vice president is from a different era.  Apparently, evaluating people by their skin color is perfectly acceptable to him.  It is even celebrated.  Mr. Biden was lauded and applauded by Democrats, which perhaps should not be a surprise given the party's long, sordid history of outward racism.

Think of Biden/Harris as Dickensian Caricatures.  Now that we see the Democrats' presidential ticket for 2020 in full, we can see how underwhelming it is.  To me, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are political caricatures, gargoyles, in the grand old tradition of Charles Dickens.  It is fashionable for the cognoscenti to sneer at the improbability of the Dickensians, the arch-hypocrite Mr. Pecksniff, arch-slimeball Uriah Heep, and the alcoholic nurse Mrs. Gamp, but who could have predicted the arch-shallowness of bully Joe Biden, a New Deal liberal in an age of wokies?  Or nasty Kamala Harris, the First Black Woman child of not-very-black Berkeley academics that's supposed to embody all that is good and woke, but who is little more than the old-fashioned girl that slept her way to the top?  Only in her case it wasn't the old-fashioned millionaire of the song, but an old-fashioned political boss with the power to propel her into the United States Senate.

Kamala Harris not having much effect on voters after being picked for VP, poll shows.  An overwhelming majority of Americans say having Sen. Kamala Harris on the Democratic presidential ticket won't make a difference in how they vote, a poll released Monday [8/17/2020] said.  Seventy-one percent of respondents said the California lawmaker won't impact their choice, while 17 percent said her appearance makes them more likely to vote for the Democratic ticket and 10 percent said it makes them less likely to vote for the Democrats, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll.

Two Problems Emerging for Biden/Harris Ticket.  As the sheen, luster, and glow fades off the announcement of Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) as Joe Biden's running mate, I see two problems emerging for the Democrat ticket.  One, it's becoming painfully obvious that Senator Harris is a political chameleon who will say and do whatever she needs to say or do in order to secure a political advantage. [...] As the mainstream media assists political chameleon Kamala Harris by portraying her as a moderate to the nation, Californians and criminal justice reformers must be shaking their heads in disbelief at the media's blatant deception.  Activists watched as she stood by and did nothing as the San Francisco District Attorney while defendants were wrongly convicted and sentenced during a tainted crime lab scandal.

Kamala Is Making the Same Mistake Clinton Did.  President Donald Trump is once again up against an opponent who would drag the country down into a socialist hellscape and his most threatening opponent on the opposite team is a list of leftist cliche's soaked in social justice.  I think it's fair to say at this point that Biden is hardly a threat to Trump.  He spends most of the time hidden away by his handlers so as not to embarrass himself and the party any further.  The debates are going to be interesting to watch (if they happen) but not because the two men will have a level debate about policies and viewpoints, but because Biden won't be able to control his temper as he forgets one thing after another.  Kamala Harris is Trump's real obstacle but she's an obstacle in the same way a speed bump is an obstacle to a truck.  It'll slow things down a notch but rest assured, we'll be getting past it.

Schweizer: Kamala Harris Has 'Deeply Troubling' Past with Fundraising.  In a Sunday interview on Fox News Channel's "The Next Revolution," Breitbart News senior contributor and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer discussed Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's running mate.  Schweizer, author of "Profiles in Corruption:  Abuse of Power by America's Progressive Elite," said he believed Biden selected Harris based on her fundraising ability, but explained she has a "deeply troubling" way of raising money that is related to not prosecuting certain sexual abuse cases involving rich and powerful families and lawyers representing the Catholic schools in the crosshairs of investigations.

Kamala Harris:  Mike Nifong in a Dress.  While the Black Lives Matter movement is a fraud whose principal agendas include "revolution" and an anti-Trump campaign on 501(c)(3) tax-exempt money, the overwhelming majority of Americans support the ostensible causes behind which it hides.  These include opposition to police misconduct, which includes not just excessive force, but also imprisonment of innocent people, many of whom are black.  This makes Kamala Harris exactly what everybody is protesting.  An over-aggressive prosecutor is far more dangerous to society than any but the most violent criminals.  If a thug invades your home to rob, rape, or murder you, you can shoot him, and the law will be on your side when you do it.  A prosecutor can, on the other hand, force you to spend your life savings to defend your freedom and good name and maybe even send you to prison for something you didn't do.

Biden's pick of Kamala Harris may appear historic, but how does she help politically?  Now that the virtual confetti from Joe Biden's selection of a ticket mate has been virtually swept away, what, if anything, special does his pick of Kamala Harris mean?  It is August, after all, a steamy summer month of vacations when the absence of real news can easily distort the judgment of media managers.  Full disclosure:  I once wrote an article about a dog who returned a lost wallet to its owner.  And it got on page one — in August.  "Remember," former Vice President Biden declared some years ago, "no one decides who they're going to vote for based on the vice president.  I mean that literally."

What's to Blame for Trump's Lagging Poll Numbers?  I am looking forward to an explanation of one of the great mysteries of life on earth circa 2020.  The mystery, I mean, of how it can possibly be the case that poor old slow Joe Biden's poll numbers are still exhibiting more of a pulse than he is.  How is it possible?  Furthermore, how is it possible that his campaign was not consumed by contemptuous laughter directly after it was announced that Kamala Harris, the nastiest woman in U.S. politics today, would be his running mate?  Harris's presidential bid went nowhere.  It just collapsed before it even really got started.  No surprise there.  In addition to being seriously unpleasant — just take a look at her disgraceful performance during the Senate confirmation hearings for Brett Kavanaugh — she has signed up for the whole cringe-inducing wackadoodle far-Left agenda, promising to ban fracking, embrace wind power, take your guns, raise your taxes, and destroy the borders of the country (she memorably compared our brave border police to members of the Ku Klux Klan).

Harris, Omar and the party's great march leftward.  [Kamala] Harris hails from California, a progressive, deep-blue state.  As a progressive, wealthy native of northern California, Harris has little ability to mobilize supporters in places like Detroit or Pittsburgh.  Moreover, Harris has not distinguished herself as a great vote-getter.  Last year, when Harris entered the Democratic presidential primaries, she enjoyed enthusiastic support from the media and deep-pocketed progressive donors.  But despite these advantages, she failed to win over significant support for her campaign even in her native state.  Her campaign fizzled out very quickly.  While the progressive media refers to Harris as a "moderate," since her election to the Senate in 2016 Harris has racked up one of the most radical voting records in the upper house.  She supports revoking all limitations on abortions.  She supports harsh limitations on the right to bear arms.  She supports banning oil fracking and ending energy exploration on federal lands.

Why Didn't Kamala Harris Prosecute Abusive Priests?  Perhaps the deepest and most troubling mystery of Kamala Harris's tenure as a prosecutor centers on the disturbing issue of sexual abuse of children by priests," writes Peter Schweizer in Profiles in Corruption.  "During her decade-and-a-half tenure as a chief prosecutor, Harris would fail to prosecute a single case of priest abuse and her office would strangely hide vital records on abuses that had occurred despite the protests of victim groups."  As a senator, Harris has inveighed against those who protect "predators."  So what explains her soft-on-abuse record as district attorney of San Francisco and attorney general of California? [...] Schweizer thinks her hands-off approach was due to the political debts she owed powerful Catholics in the Bay Area for helping her win the district attorney's seat in San Francisco.  Her predecessor and opponent in that race, Vincent Hallinan, had been pursuing abuse cases against the Church.  Catholics afraid of his investigations backed Kamala Harris in the race.

Joe And Kamala's Fact-Mangling Debut.  The new Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Democratic ticket debuted in Delaware on Aug. 12, followed by the typically frantic partisan sugar-sculpting competition on cable "news."  But MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell took the saccharine prize by claiming that there was not a single false utterance in 35 minutes.  The energetic promoters of "independent fact-checkers" — who want "real-time" fact-checking of President Donald Trump — couldn't muster any effort to evaluate this thunderclap of leftist rhetoric echoing in a nearly empty high school gym.  Let's list a few fact-mangling whoppers. Kamala Harris Is Far Worse Than Hillary Clinton.  Harris's platform is so far to the left of the mainstream that she makes Mrs. Clinton, a hero to the Left for several decades, look moderate.  Clinton, for instance, said that illegal immigrants should be allowed to purchase health insurance on the Obamacare exchanges but without subsidies, which is Joe Biden's position (according to his platform, though Biden himself often seems confused about this when publicly discussing the issue).  Kamala Harris backs a single-payer federal health-care plan and did not equivocate when asked whether illegal immigrants would be covered:  "Let me just be very clear about this.  I am opposed to any policy that would deny in our country any human being from access to public safety, public education or public health, period."  This would mark an end to the distinction between people who are here legally and illegally and would signal to the world's poor that it's time to make their break for the United States.  Harris also compared Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to the Ku Klux Klan and said we should decriminalize unauthorized border crossings.

A Kamala-led Coup Would Succeed Against Biden.  This should never happen to another president again, this hoax," President Trump repeatedly says, referring to the Russia collusion hoax that very nearly destroyed his presidency.  It's unlikely that there are enough turncoats and Obama holdovers to mount another effort against a reelected President Trump.  But how vulnerable would a new President Biden be to such an effort?  Kamala Harris, former prosecutor of innocent people with different priorities and allies than Joe Biden, is uniquely positioned to lead a reprise of the same playbook used against President Trump.  Only this time, Joe Biden would be far more vulnerable to such an attack.

Joe Biden Alienated Black Voters by Choosing Kamala Harris.  When presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden chose Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) as his running mate, he may have known he was alienating conservatives and moderates, but he likely didn't anticipate alienating black voters.  According to a groundbreaking poll from Rasmussen Reports, Biden's VP pick has given black voters second thoughts about supporting the Democratic ticket in November.

Facebook Censors TRUTH That Kamala Harris Identified Herself as Indian-American.  Now that Kamala Harris is claiming to be the Democrat's "black" VP candidate, Facebook is beginning to censor posts stating that Harris used to call herself an "Indian-American."  Candace Owens recently posted to Facebook the fact that Harris had identified as an "Indian-American" in previous campaigns for office.  But now the Democrats are touting her as a black woman.  But Facebook censored her posts claiming that the truth was "factually inaccurate." [...] Of course, Harris is not an "African American" at all.  Her mother is from India and her father is a Hispanic of African descent from Jamaica.  Yet, Facebook is working to cover for the Democrats, once again.

Shaun King 2018: Can't vote for Joe Biden or Kamala Harris because they "helped build and advance mass incarceration".  That was then:  "I'll be frank and tell you two Democrats I'm 99% sure I won't be supporting... Joe Biden & Kamala Harris."  This is now:  I'm thrilled to support Biden-Harris.

Kamala Harris:  America's Least Sincere Person.  Kamala Harris is devoted to the political advancement of Kamala Harris.  (Just ask Willie Brown.)  Beyond that, she has no apparent principles, although she is happy to adopt extreme leftism as the guise of the moment.  During the primary season, she attacked Joe Biden quite effectively, claiming to believe the women who accused him of sexual harassment, and so on.  But, like the rest of Harris's life, it was all a pose.

Obama Speechwriter Mocks Media for Calling Kamala a 'Moderate'.  A former Obama speechwriter — Jon Favreau, who President Obama once called his "mind reader" — says it's "hilarious" to him that news media now refers to former Vice President Joe Biden's running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), as a "moderate" and a "centrist."  "She supports something extremely close to Medicare for all," Favreau noted, pointing out that self-described Democratic Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) even acknowledged her support for the policy in his speech endorsing the Harris-Biden ticket.  "She is for the Green New Deal," Favreau continued, "She has one of the most liberal records in the U.S. Senate."  According to GovTrack, Harris does indeed have one the most liberal records in the U.S. Senate, even more liberal than fellow Sen. Bernie Sanders.  And out of all the Democratic senators, Harris was the least likely to join bipartisan bills.

With Kamala, Angry Socialism Rises From the Dead.  One of Kamala's great literary obsessions is abortion.  She's fascinated by it.  Beyond Saturn and some sinister characters from Roman mythology, it is difficult to find anyone who talks so enthusiastically about killing babies.  As a prosecutor she has tried to make life impossible for several anti-abortion activists, who have often accused her of a conflict of interest due to her relationship with the monstrous multinational Planned Parenthood.  I suspect there is something sad and Freudian about all this.  Kamala, a daughter of divorced parents but who has always lived with her mother, has no children of her own but oversees the two that her husband had with his ex-wife, Kerstin Emhoff.  Planned Parenthood is so happy with Kamala's news that the organization issued a statement congratulating her almost before her appointment was announced.

Graham on Harris: 'No issue' as to whether 'she is an American citizen'.  Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) broke with President Trump on Friday by saying there is no debate over whether Sen. Kamala Harris is a U.S. citizen, remarks that came after the president encouraged a conspiracy theory that the California Democrat may not be eligible to serve as vice president because her parents are immigrants.  In a pair of tweets, Graham, a frequent defender of Trump, said he disagreed with Harris on "plenty of issues," calling her "one of the most liberal members of the U.S. Senate."  But he said there should be no debate over her citizenship status.  "There are plenty of issues to find disagreement with @KamalaHarris regarding her record as Senator or as a Vice Presidential nominee," Graham tweeted.  "She is consistently rated one of the most liberal members of the U.S. Senate, fully embracing a radical Democratic agenda."  "However, there is no issue as to whether or not she is an American citizen," he continued.  "She was born in the United States in 1964 to parents who were legally present.  Under the Constitution and Supreme Court precedent, she is unequivocally an American citizen."

First of all, Lindsey Graham is a Deep State Uniparty ACORNRINO, whose support of President Trump has been tepid at best.  Aside from that, Ms. Harris's father is Jamaican, and subject to the Monarchy of Jamaica.  Her mother is subject to India.  The 14th Amendment says, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside."  [Italics added.]  At the time of her birth, Ms. Harris was subject to the Monarchy of Jamaica.  We went through all this twelve years ago.*  But in this case, nobody is accusing Ms. Harris of having dual citizenship (for example, in the U.S. and Indonesia) as was the case with Barack H. Obama.

Yes, Kamala Harris Is Indeed a Natural-Born Citizen.  I saw over the weekend that some people argue that Kamala Harris is ineligible to be Vice-President: apparently her parents weren't citizens when she was born, so the argument goes that she is thus not a natural-born citizen.  (Under Article II of the Constitution, only a "natural-born citizen" can be President, and the Twelfth Amendment provides that "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.")  But "natural-born citizen" appears to have been the Framers' adaptation of the familiar English term "natural-born subject" (though with the "subject" of a monarch being changed to the "citizen" of a republic).

Despite Constant Libel of Trump, I Trust the People.  Ms. Harris favors open borders and compared the Immigration and Customs Enforcement service to the Ku Klux Klan.  She favors the entire Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Green Terror, including abolition of fracking and ultimately of fossil fuel consumption and use, and the now customary Democratic hare-brained nonsense about windmills and solar panels.  (At the confirmation hearing for James Mattis as secretary of defense, she asked him how he would combat climate change.)  Ms. Harris favors free full-service public healthcare for everyone, sharply increased taxes, and the confiscation of privately owned firearms — Beto O'Rourke could soon be on every doorstep in America.  Ms. Harris has many critics among the 98% of Democrats who did not support her candidacy for president.

Harris Gets Mixed Reactions from the Left and the Right.  Joe Biden's announcement of Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) as his running mate on Tuesday was met with heavily mixed reactions from both sides of the political aisle, as reported by various sources.  On social media, while many figures in the Democratic Party's establishment — from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to former President Barack Obama — lauded Harris's selection, grassroots activists and commentators were not as pleased.  Some on Twitter pointed out Harris's past as a prosecutor in California, first as San Francisco's district attorney then as the state's attorney general, and how she disproportionately targeted minorities with harsh sentences.  Others noted that she had been one of Biden's most vocal critics in the past, even going so far as to say that she believed Tara Reade, the former Senate staffer who has credibly accused Biden of sexual assault.

Why It Should Matter to Women That Kamala Harris Slept Her Way Up.  [Scroll down]  Kamala Harris's story denigrates women who worked hard all their lives, faced cruel gender stereotypes, heard and ignored snickers, encountered and overcame real true misogyny, and yet ultimately achieved great accomplishments.  Kamala Harris instead is a poster child for those extremely few women who despicably chose to take the short-cut up the ladder through frisky behavior with married men 30 years their senior.  That play and strategy did not work out well for Monica Lewinsky, whose name forever will be associated with vice.  Our society's rejection and mockery of Lewinsky to this day, a quarter century later, is the vice precedent that should define Kamala Harris.  Vice precedent, Kamala Harris.

Kamala Harris's fans are inventing new ways to get offended on her behalf.  It has barely been 72 hours since presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden announced Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate, and the Democratic Party's allies in politics and media are already inventing new ways to brand criticism of the California senator as "sexist."  Vanity Fair contributor and Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign flack Jennifer Palmieri, for example, alleged this week during a recent appearance on MSNBC that it is sexist to refer to Harris as a "phony."  But the senator clearly is a phony.  At least, what word would you use to describe a politician who staked out at least four separate positions on "Medicare for all" during the 2020 Democratic primary?

Kamala Has Already Struck Out.  We are not supposed to have noticed (or it's not supposed to make a difference or matter), but Kamala Harris came into politics as a mistress under the patronage of the notoriously unethical speaker of the House in California, Willie Brown.  Numerous public servants in government in California at the time noted that Kamala was a pretty twenty-something young woman that Brown, a married man in his 60s, regularly showed off as his mistress at political events.  She received prestigious, powerful, and profitable political appointments in state government and moved on from there.  Anyone who brings up this opportunism is against her "ambition" and is trying to keep her "in her place."  In short, anyone raising these well documented facts is both misogynistic and racist.  Kamala is known as being "pragmatic, rather than principled."  Some Democrat strategists claim to be happy with Kamala as a "messenger" (meaning she is good TV) but cringe at her inconsistent and problematic "messages" (meaning she is all over the map on any given issue). Harris has flip-flopped on issue after issue, depending on what's politically expedient.

Pro-Life Leaders Slam Biden-Harris Ticket As 'Most Pro-Abortion in History'.  As soon as Joe Biden announced U.S. Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his vice presidential pick on August 11, prominent pro-life groups immediately characterized the Democratic presidential ticket for 2020 as the most "pro-abortion ticket in American history."  Pro-life organizations like the Susan B. Anthony List, American Life League, and March For Life slammed former Vice President Biden's VP pick as symbolic of his commitment to the pro-abortion lobby and abortion mill Planned Parenthood.  They enumerated reasons including the fact that Kamala Harris supports taxpayer-funded abortion up to birth, and the fact that she has colluded with Planned Parenthood to silence the abortion mill's political enemies.

Kamala Harris reportedly owes $1M in bills from failed presidential run.  Kamala Harris, named Tuesday to be Joe Biden's running mate, still has more than $1 million in unpaid bills left over from her failed 2020 presidential bid, according to a report.  The California senator raised about $39 million for her White House bid in 2019 and spent about $40 million, leaving her campaign with just $116,380 in the bank at the end of June, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday [8/12/2020], citing Federal Election Commission filings.  Harris ended her campaign last December amid falling poll numbers and a lack of fundraising.

Donald Trump REFUSES to shoot down birther claim that Kamala Harris cannot run as VP because her parents are immigrants.  President Donald Trump fanned the flames of yet another 'birther' conspiracy theory by telling White House reporters Thursday that he had 'no idea' if Kamala Harris was eligible to be vice president.  The president added that the Republican lawyer who wrote a Newsweek op-ed pushing that claim 'is a very highly qualified, very talented lawyer.'  Right-wing law professor John C. Eastman wrote an editorial Wednesday that argued that because Harris' parents weren't citizens when she was born in 1964 in Oakland, California then she might not fit the definition of eligibility under the U.S. Constitution.

Harris redefines rioters as a 'coalition of conscience'.  Since the death, at the hands of Minneapolis police, of George Floyd, a black man, there have been riots in hundreds of cities across the U.S.  Largely orchestrated by Black Lives Matter and Antifa, they have included rioters, looters, arsonists, murderers, even cop killers.  Now Kamala Harris, the extreme left senator that Joe Biden has picked as a running mate in his pursuit of the Oval Office in this year's presidential election, calls them a "coalition of conscience."

Harris [is] 'directly responsible for persecution' of undercover pro-life journalists.  Not only is Joe Biden running mate Kamala Harris pro-abortion, she's anti-free speech on the topic, contend the two undercover pro-life journalists targeted by Harris when she was California's attorney general.  David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress released more than a dozen videos showing Planned Parenthood executives discussing getting paid for the body parts of unborn children.

'Most Pro-Abortion Presidential Ticket In American History': Pro-Life Groups Condemn Biden VP Kamala Harris.  Pro-life groups condemned 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden's Tuesday [8/11/2020] vice presidential pick, Kamala Harris, calling Biden and Harris the "most pro-abortion presidential ticket in American history."  The former vice president announced Tuesday that Harris would be running with him in his bid for the White House.  Harris has a long history of advocating for increased abortion access and against pro-life policy:  she has voted against abortion bills that protect the unborn after 20 weeks of pregnancy and voted against protecting babies born alive after failed abortions.  As a presidential candidate, Harris promised to codify Roe v Wade, require judicial nominees to support Roe v Wade, to repeal the Hyde Amendment, to require private insurers to cover abortion and contraception, to make abortion drugs and birth control available over the counter, to ban abstinence only sex ed, to preserve funding for Planned Parenthood, and much more.  She also said she would not consider a running mate who opposed abortion rights.

Kamala Harris:  Young People Are 'Stupid' — 'They Make Really Bad Decisions'.  Cable news pundits claimed on Tuesday night that Kamala Harris could help to motivate young voters, but a speech from 2014 may prove to make that objective more difficult.  During a speech to the Ford Foundation, the then-California Attorney General used young people as a punchline, saying they are "stupid" and that's why they have to live with resident assistants in dormitories.

How Do I Tell My Friend She's Not 'African-American'?  [Scroll down]  [T]he Democratic Party is entirely about identity politics these days, meaning race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender and sexual orientation, but having absolutely nothing to do with economic class, social standing, occupational category or geographic location.  They already had Obama, so what's better than the first black president?  The first black woman president, of course! But she's half-Indian and half-Jamaican, not a foundational black American.  No reparations for her!  In fact, her Jamaican father admits their family owned slaves.  Yeah, yeah. [...] As described in my book Mugged, Democrats were always annoyed by the idea that civil rights should have anything to do with black people.  That's why "civil rights" quickly came to mean abortion rights, gay rights, the right not to see construction signs that say "Men at Work."  Black Americans should breathe a sigh of relief that Biden didn't pick a transsexual and expect their gratitude.

Sanders' former press secretary:  Let's face it, the Harris pick is a disaster for progressives.  Just what exactly do progressives — especially those with antipathy to law enforcement — get from a Joe Biden/Kamala Harris ticket?  The media has spent much of the past thirty hours celebrating this union rather than analyzing it, but not everyone's tossing confetti. [...] In an era where progressives want much more aggressive prosecutions for police officers who abuse their authority, Harris' record comes up considerably short on that issue.  Forbes notes that two progressive groups sounded less than thrilled with the pick as well.

Kamala Harris Campaign Lawyer Convinced Clinton To Take Money from Registered Foreign Agents.  The 2015 email exchange is especially concerning in light of a recent National Counterintelligence and Security Center report identifying foreign entities such as the Chinese Communist Party aiming to secure a Joe Biden presidency.  Elias, a lawyer for dozens of high-profile Democratic candidates including Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential bid, had been on Harris's presidential campaign as its top lawyer since its inception.  The trusted Harris adviser, however, was identified by Clinton's 2016 campaign director as "convincing" the campaign they should take money from registered foreign agents — Americans who lobby on behalf of foreign countries, individuals, and businesses.

Kamala Harris Took Campaign Cash from Jeffrey Epstein's Law Firm.  The failed presidential campaign of Joe Biden's running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), took cash donations from the law firm used by deceased child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, according to reports.  Sen. Harris, the former attorney general of California, bagged campaign cash from Kirkland and Ellis lawyers, an Associated Press report has revealed.  Harris bemoaned the influence of the powerful and connected elite when she called on top Justice Department officials to recuse themselves from any matter related to Epstein, AP reported shortly after the convicted pedophile's arrest in July 2019.

Remember when Kamala Harris prosecuted pro-life David Daleiden over baby parts.  In a California courtroom in September 2019, the CEO of StemExpress admitted to selling intact aborted babies to medical researchers.  This illegal practice was uncovered by two undercover reporters for The Center for American Progress, David Daleiden, and Sandra Merritt.  The videos were released beginning in 2015.  Planned Parenthood and organizations like StemExpress wre trafficking in human parts, aborted baby parts.  Instead of going after the organizations allegedly committing the crimes, the state of California, led by then-attorney general Kamala Harris, went after the undercover reporters who exposed the illegal activity.

Kamala Labeled 'Most Liberal Senator' — Has Zero Bipartisan Legislative Achievements.  If Democrats get their way on mail-in voting, there's a decent chance Kamala Harris could become vice president of the United States.  Trump supporters had better show up to the polls in November.  Every four years, people say, "this is the biggest election of our lifetime" — and it's not true.  It's a scare tactic.  But in just a few short months, it might actually be accurate.  A Biden/Harris administration would cripple America, there's no doubt about it.

Rose McGowan Calls Out Kamala Harris Over Harvey Weinstein: 'How Many Predators Bankroll You?'.  While Hollywood stars drool over Kamala Harris, actress Rose McGowan has shown up to deliver a sobering reality check.  The actress and #MeToo activist is calling out the newly minted vice presidential candidate for accepting donations from Harvey Weinstein when she was attorney general of California.  "Did you return the money Weinstein gave you?" McGowan tweeted Wednesday [8/12/2020].  "How many predators bankroll you?"

Kamala Harris Lies Repeatedly in [her] First Speech as Biden's Running Mate.  In her first speech since Joe Biden selected her as his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris told multiple lies.  To wit:  "The president's mismanagement of the pandemic has plunged us into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression," Harris said.  False.  The pandemic and its associated lockdowns, not the president, are responsible for the economic contraction.  Donald Trump is not the president of the euro zone, which suffered through an even more dire economic contraction in the second quarter:  minus 40.3 percent, on an annualized basis, as against minus 32.9 percent in the US. [...] "Just look where [Trump and Mike Pence] have gotten us. ... Millions of kids who cannot go back to school," Harris said.  Wrong.  It is not Donald Trump's decision whether kids go back to school, because the federal government does not run schools, but he has urged the schools to reopen.  The primary reason kids cannot go back to school is opposition from teachers' unions.  The second-largest teachers' union is threatening to strike if schools reopen.

Joe and Kamala, the Demagogic Duo.  According to media accounts, a "power outage" delayed the debut of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Wednesday [8/12/2020] — a foreshadowing of what we can expect from an anti-energy Biden-Harris administration.  Both are committed to an extreme environmentalism that will cripple America's oil and gas industry.  Harris is opposed to all fracking.  Biden has made as his vice-presidential running mate a San Francisco radical, whose voting record puts her to the left of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.  But the media, seeking to con independents, is casting Harris as a "pragmatic moderate."  Right.  She is no more moderate than Biden, who has promised to be the most liberal president ever.  His administration would combine the worst of the Obama years with all the radicalism of today's Democratic Party.  On ample display Wednesday was the ticket's relentless demagoguery.  Both Biden and Harris are audacious and monumental liars.  It is a toss-up as to who lied more in their speeches.

Kamala Harris Was Ringleader In Brett Kavanaugh Character Assassination Attempt.  One of the ringleaders of the Democratic Party's attempt to destroy Brett Kavanaugh's life in 2018 has been named Joe Biden's running mate for the 2020 presidential election.  Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., used the Kavanaugh nomination in 2018 as a springboard for her failed presidential campaign.  Focusing on her support for abortion and position on the Senate Judiciary Committee that handled the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, Harris strongly opposed Kavanaugh's nomination within moments of it being announced, and long before she had a chance to review his record.  She joined other Democratic presidential hopefuls on the steps of the Supreme Court the next day to further express her opposition.  She ran 3,600 different advertisements on Facebook before the second round of hearings began in late September 2018.

The message in Willie Brown's advice to Kamala.  It's no secret that Kamala Harris got a leg up in California politics because she dated Willie Brown.  It was a smart move on her part.  Brown was the California Assembly Speaker and a very powerful one.  It wasn't just patronage, though, that Brown provided.  Love him or hate him, Brown is now and always has been one of the smartest people in American politics.  That's why it's very interesting that, right before Kamala accepted Biden's offer to have her run as his vice president, Brown emphatically told her not to seek that position.  In giving that advice, Brown made the obvious point that the vice president's role is often, although not always, a dead-end. [...] Instead, Brown told Kamala to hold out for the position of Attorney General because it offered a better springboard for her future presidential ambitions.

GovTrack.US: Kamala Harris Is The Most Liberal Politician In The U.S. Senate.  The press is campaigning hard for the Biden-Harris ticket.  Press coverage of the two candidates after Biden introduced his running mate at a small, controlled event in Delaware went just as Team Biden hoped.  The reporters and liberal news anchors waxed poetically about the pair and the push is on to convince voters that Kamala Harris is a moderate Democrat.  Here is the thing, though — Kamala Harris has a voting record in the U.S. Senate and it's not the voting record of a moderate Democrat.  As a matter of fact, GovTrack.us ranks Senator Harris as the most liberal in the Senate.  Think of the Democrats in the Senate and then wrap your head around the fact that Kamala Harris is more liberal than Bernie Sanders or any of the far-left members of the Senate. [...] This is no longer Joe Biden's campaign for president.  This is Kamala's campaign.  Biden may be the name at the top of the ticket but Kamala is the person running the show.  Just as he would be should he be elected president in November, Biden is a figurehead.

Kamala Harris Is Farther Left Than Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.  How extreme is Kamala Harris?  Pretty extreme.  There are various measures for these things, but according to Progressive Punch ("Leading with the Left"), Kamala Harris is the fourth farthest-left of any senator with a score of 96.76 percent out of 100 on "crucial votes," despite moderating very slightly in the period when she was running for president.  Elizabeth Warren is fifth, Kirsten Gillibrand is sixth, and Bernie Sanders is tenth.  Here is a portion of the chart:  [Chart at left]

Kamala Harris Failed to Prosecute Priest Sex Abuse Cases Despite Victims' Pleas.  Joe Biden announced Tuesday he has chosen Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his running mate, a person the presumptive Democrat nominee described as a "fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country's finest public servants."  During Harris's tenure as San Francisco's chief prosecutor, however, she showed no signs of fighting for "the little guy" when she failed to prosecute any of the sexual abuse claims brought against Catholic priests in the city, despite outcries from victim groups.

Kamala Harris Promoted Group That Paid Bail for Murderers and Sex Offenders.  Imagine electing someone as vice president of the United States after she promoted a group that paid bail for violent criminals, including an accused murderer and a rapist.  Well, that's exactly what Kamala Harris did.  In the aftermath of George Floyd's deaths, violent rioters caused millions in damages and other crimes.  The Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF), a group that raises money to pay the bail of criminals, received a lot of publicity when Hollywood liberals virtue-signaled their support for the group and donated big money to their cause.  Kamala Harris also promoted the group.

Report:  CNN Publishes Cryptic Piece Suggesting Harris is Ready to Take Over When Biden "Steps Aside".  I really don't understand the Kamala Harris pick.  I think this was the biggest blunder Team Biden has made, and that's saying a lot because they've made a lot of blunders.  Harris polled like garbage during the Dem primary.  She was a massive disappointment and underwhelmed voters. [...] Her record of locking up black men for marijuana possession is abysmal by today's "BLM standards." But her quest to lock up innocent people and keep innocent people behind bars is what is truly shocking. [...] Biden's campaign is unlike any other:  he's two sneezes away from full-blown Alzheimer's, so his VP pick is more than just his "sidekick," it's understood that his VP will actually be the "president."  and keeping that in mind, he still went with Kamala Harris?

Kamala Harris believed Joe Biden's accusers — until she didn't.  By the standard of her own ample public record, Kamala Harris has just joined the presidential campaign of a serial sexual abuser, Joe Biden.  It was during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings that we first learned that Harris harbors serious presidential aspirations.  Her cross-examination of the future justice went viral, prompting Politico to speculate:  "Kamala Harris Rides Kavanaugh Rage in Likely 2020 Bid."  She later explained her hard-line position in an Atlantic magazine interview.  Sexual assault, she said, "is an issue right now that is where the issue of domestic violence was about 30 years ago. ... There was a perception about domestic violence:  'Oh, you know, what happens in the king's castle is the king's business.  That's private business.  That's not our business.'  But then we evolved as a society. ... I believe this is an inflection moment on the issue of sexual assault."

You've Been Warned:  Kamala Harris Shall Not Be Criticized.  Vice presidential candidates typically have to face scrutiny, and Joe Biden's choice, especially given the presidential candidate's advanced age and cognitive decline, will be no exception.  He could have done the right thing by choosing his old friend Chris Dodd.  Instead, Biden has selected an old rival, Kamala Harris.  Democratic Party operatives, liberal activists, and media pundits — to the extent there's a difference — have been preparing for this moment for some time.  An active campaign is underway to shape the media's coverage of Biden's female running mate, declaring almost every form of criticism to be off limits.

Biden's selection of Harris for VP means disastrous San Francisco economic model could go nationwide.  The Democrat party's lunge to the far-left is near completion with presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's pick of Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., as his running mate on Tuesday [8/11/2020].  She is very much a San Francisco Democrat who assumes more and more obtrusive government rules, mandates and taxes are never enough.  Her run for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination in 2019 (she dropped out in December) demonstrated that she has neither the beliefs nor the backbone to counter her party's embrace of socialism.  Here she will be a collaborator, not a resister.

Senator Kennedy On Harris Becoming Biden's VP Pick:  She's AOC 'Without The Bartending Experience'.  Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) warned voters on Wednesday that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), who was selected this week to be presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's running mate, is not the moderate that the media claims that she is.  "Kamala is my colleague, so I want to congratulate her.  I think she is very personable," Kennedy said.  "She's very smart, she's very aggressive, and she's very liberal.  I think of Kamala, I would describe her as Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez but smarter and without the bartending experience.  She'll be a very formidable candidate."

Donald Trump:  Kamala Harris 'Going to Be a Big Failure'.  President Donald Trump on Wednesday predicted that Sen. Kamala Harris would be a failure as former Vice President Joe Biden's running mate.  "I read today that she is very short on facts," Trump said.  "I think she's going to be a big failure."

One Question Kamala Must Answer:  Do You Stand with Israel or With the Anti-Semitic BLM and BDS Movements.  Sen. Kamala Harris is now the Democratic nominee for vice president, which effectively means that, given Joe Biden's declining mental health, she needs to be evaluated as a presidential candidate.  One of the most important characteristics for anyone, especially a political leader, is integrity.  We need to know if our leaders are committed to their values (even if we disagree with them) or if they will do and say anything to get and retain power.  Ms. Harris has repeatedly been attacked by her opponents for doing the latter:  first, she ran for office on a "tough-on-crime" platform and then tried to curry favor with criminals by proudly saying she used to smoke pot while listening to Tupac and Snoop Dogg while in college (the irony being that she graduated college before either rap artist released an album).  She claimed to be tough on crime, but embraced "sanctuary" cities and states and has ignored immigration laws when it serves her in trying to be popular.

The Real Kamala Harris.  Joe Biden has picked the runt of the litter, an also-ran loser in the Democratic primaries who never one a primary, barely escaped sitting at the kiddies table, whom the voters didn't think was qualified to be president, yet whom Biden wanted to be a heartbeat away.  Or maybe his puppet masters, the voices in his earpiece, and the voices in his head picked her from a list loaded with more baggage than an airport carousel.  Biden picked a running mate who labeled him a racist opponent of school busing who cavorted and collaborated with segregationist Democrat colleagues in the Senate where Biden supported legislation leading to the incarceration of young black males.  Of course, Harris did her part in incarcerating young black males with a vengeance as states attorney in San Francisco and attorney general of California.  Kamala Harris also believes Biden is a sexual predator, saying we should believe his accusers, even staffer Tara Reade, who has credibly accused him of sexual assault.

Hemingway: Biden Should Have Picked Centrist VP To Win Over Swing State Voters.  The Federalist Senior Editor Mollie Hemingway took aim at Sen. Kamala Harris' far-left record on "The Ingraham Angle" Tuesday night, after Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden announced Harris as his running mate.  "There's a reason why Republicans seem a little more excited by this pick than Democrats do," Hemingway said, adding that Biden should have picked a moderate if he wanted to attract the voters that Hillary Clinton lost in 2016.  "Instead, he made a decision to go for a far-left, California Democrat."  "She wears well for the first 15 minutes and then people kind of get tired of her," Hemingway continued, suggesting that Harris' biggest problem is her extremely liberal views.  Harris is "so radical on abortion she's actually tried to imprison pro-lifers and journalists who do work exposing what is happening in abortion clinics," Hemingway said, referring to then-Attorney General of California Harris' prosecution of undercover journalist David Daleiden.

RIP, Kamala.  [Scroll down]  She's a California senator who worked her way up from district attorney of San Francisco, best known from her time in that job as an enabler of pedophile Catholic priests and the "side-piece" of California Assembly Speaker Willie Brown.  Harris progressed, largely thanks to her extramarital relationship with Brown, to California attorney general and then the U.S. Senate, where she helped to orchestrate the Christine Blasey Ford hoax in a vain attempt to smear Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh on the eve of his nomination.  Then this Kamala Harris decided to force herself on the American people as a presidential candidate, in an effort that was a ghastly failure.  Despite raising and spending a fortune thanks to her close connections with the Clintons and their fundraising machine, she crashed and burned in the early primaries and dropped out, but not before attacking eventual nominee Biden as a racist — which she prefaced by denying she was doing so, something the Biden shills at the Washington Post now say is proof that she never did it.

Kamala Harris's Relentless Pursuit of Power.  The fact that Harris will say and do anything for power is evident in her very acceptance of Biden's offer.  It's going to be fascinating to watch Harris explain why she is running with man who only months ago she strongly insinuated was a racist.  "There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day, and that little girl was me," Harris explained, as she hit Biden on his history of working with segregationists to oppose busing laws in the 1970s.  It will be even more fascinating to hear the moral calculus Harris employs to rationalize running with a rapist.  This isn't George Bush and Ronald Reagan making up after tussling on "voodoo economics."  Concerning allegations of sexual misconduct against Joe Biden, Harris once said, "I believe them, and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it."  One of the women Harris was referring to was Tara Reade, whom accused Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993, when she worked as an aide for the then Delaware senator.  "I believe them" doesn't lend it itself to much interpretation.

The Ghost of Sarah Palin Will Haunt the Media This Election Cycle.  In the coming months, a phalanx of mainstream media outlets and leftist women's groups will be deployed to defend Sen. Kamala Harris, Joe Biden's vice-presidential pick, by labeling any and all criticism of her as sexist and possibly racist. (It remains unclear what we're to make of Harris's own charges against Biden of racism and sexism — and sexual assault — in the primaries earlier this year.)  Groups like Emily's List, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and others recently sent a letter to news outlets that they'll be monitoring coverage of Biden's VP pick by "popping up rapid response teams tasked with tracking and calling out sexism and racism in real-time," according to NBC News.  Meanwhile, Biden's campaign manager recently warned on an all-staff call that "sexism will motivate the ugliest attacks against" the VP pick, and that everyone on the campaign will be enlisted to defend her, reports the Washington Post.

Kamala Harris:  Most Liberal Senator; Backed Green New Deal, 'Medicare for All'.  The choice of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as former Vice President Joe Biden's running mate on Tuesday marks Biden's continued march to the left, as Harris is one of the most left-wing members of the U.S. Senate.  The non-partisan GovTrack.us website ranked Harris the 4th most liberal member of the Senate, based on an analysis of legislation that she sponsored or co-sponsored through 2018, the first two years she spent in Congress.

Kamala Harris Once Laughed Hysterically After Joking About Killing President Trump.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) once made waves following an appearance on Ellen, where she laughed hysterically after joking about killing President Trump during a rapid-fire question session with host Ellen DeGeneres.  At the time of the appearance, April 2018, Harris remained mum on her presidential aspirations but answered a series of amusing questions about her first celebrity crush, nicknames, and the most "rebellious" thing she did as a teen.  Then DeGeneres asked, "If you had to be stuck in an elevator with either President Trump, Mike Pence, or Jeff Sessions, who would it be?"

It says a lot that Biden chose Kamala, and none of what it says is good.  What's most striking about Kamala is that, like Barack Obama, she has nothing in common with the American black experience.  Despite her slamming the race card on the table, the only thing she shares with the generic "black vote" is skin color.  Kamala did not come from a family that has traveled through generations of the American black experience.  There's no history of Southern slavery, no Reconstruction, and no being part of the endless variety of post-Reconstruction stories.  Some blacks struggled through the Jim Crow South, some reveled in the Harlem Renaissance, some roped cows in the Wild West, some were part of the single biggest American migration when they moved to the upper Midwest, some embraced the middle class, and some got sucked into the undertow of the underclass.  Each is an American story.  Kamala's bio, by contrast, brings her closer to me: like me, she's a first-generation immigrant who is the child of very educated parents (although her upbringing was more affluent than mine).  Her mother is a high-caste East Indian breast cancer scientist, while her father is a Jamaican-born economist who is an emeritus professor at Stanford.  Like me, Kamala grew up in liberal enclaves that were anything but racist (although Kamala also spent many years growing up outside the U.S. in Montreal).

Wikileaks Links Document File on Kamala Harris, Liberals Freak Out.  Everyone was all atwitter over the announcement by Joe Biden that he finally had decided on Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA).  My colleague Joe Cunningham wrote that Harris was always the choice even though of late there has been discussion of Karen Bass and Susan Rice.  The left was trying to put the best spin they could on the choice, as my colleague Streiff observed, seemingly forgetting about the fact that she in essence called Biden a racist, got knocked out of the race by Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and dropped out because she couldn't catch fire as a candidate after all her flip flopping on issues.

Hillary Recrudescence?  Biden's choice of Kamala Harris represents return of Democrats' Hillary wing.  Harris, as it happens, represents one of three wings of the increasingly fractious Democratic Party.  She's the creature of the Hillary Clinton wing, which is the opportunistic center of the Democrats (important point), lost the last election, and continues to seethe.  Joe's picked this group over the others.  The other hydra heads on this beast are the Bernie Sanders socialist wing, which is truly crazy, modeling itself on the ideas of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez, whether it admits it or not, and the former minions of the last winning Democratic White House, the Obama wing, which I guess represents the right (of the Democrats, not the country), given its pragmatic experience in governing, with an opposition, rather than in a truly socialist one-party-state vacuum.  I argued this last August 2: [...] Biden's pick represents the triumph of the Hillary wing of the party.

On Kamala Harris.  Joe Biden has named his 2020 running mate: authoritarianism.  American prosecutors wield awesome and terrible powers that lend themselves easily to abuse, and Senator Kamala Harris, formerly the attorney general of California, is an enthusiastic abuser of them.  Harris was a leader in the junta of Democratic state attorneys general that attempted to criminalize dissent in the matter of global warming, using her office's investigatory powers to target and harass non-profit policy groups while she and her counterpart in New York attempted to shake down Exxon on phony fraud cases.  Until she was stopped by a federal court, Harris was laying subpoenas on organizations such as the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, a conservative-leaning group that is critical of Democratic global-warming proposals.

New group tells media what they can't report about Biden's running mate.  A new group, We Have Her Back, is comprised of far-far left agitators — all women — including Valerie Jarrett (the Obamas' close friend), Planned Parenthood and NARAL, Emily's List, Times Up, and others.  They sent out an absurd, and stunning memo.  The group put the memo together as we "embark on a historic moment — once again — having a woman on the presidential ticket."  After bloviating about George Floyd and regurgitating the weaponization of black and brown women, they listed all the things they don't want to hear from News Division Heads, Editors in Chiefs, Bureau Chiefs, Political Directors, Editors, Producers, Reporters, and Anchors.  How is that acceptable?  These far-left women are telling the media — the news — what they are allowed to say.  The media will acquiesce.

Democratic Party sets rules for criticizing Biden's VP pick Kamala Harris.  Media organizations have just been warned by the Democratic Party machine that they better be very, very careful with how they cover Joe Biden's vice presidential choice — just revealed to be Kamala Harris.  Any criticism of the expected woman will be considered racist and sexist, we are told.  Oh, they wrap up that threat in a word salad, but that's the bottom line:  There should be second and even third thoughts about any criticism of Mr. Biden's VP pick.  An actual memo went out from an ad hoc group of Democratic operatives (pretending to be advocates for women) to media organizations with orders on how to proceed with their coverage.  The fact that they expected this partisan missive to be accepted and adhered to by media entities tells you all you need to know about the problem with today's legacy media.

Kamala Harris's Anti-Catholic Bigotry.  Someone might want to remind Joe Biden, who's just picked progressive California senator Kamala Harris as his running mate, that his vice-president-to-be believes Catholics are unfit to serve in our nation's courts.  (Biden, of course, as I considered at length on the homepage today, has spent his entire political career invoking his Catholic faith.)  In late 2018, while evaluating the nomination of Brian Buescher to serve as a district judge in Nebraska, Harris posed a series of questions insinuating that his involvement in the Knights of Columbus — a charitable Catholic fraternal organization — disqualified him from serving on the bench.

For Biden, Kamala the cop will be Kamala the flop.  With the choice of Kamala Harris as his running mate, Joe Biden has taken another large step toward blowing the election.  To swing voters — suburban soccer moms turned off by President Trump, a swath of white laborers, family-oriented Hispanic women — Harris will prove to be anathema.  Her crusading leftism, hard-edged personal style, and facial sneer will make her like 10,000 fingernails on 1,000 loud chalkboards, amplified by a boom microphone so strong it can be heard for hundreds of miles.  As my colleague Tim Carney noted two weeks ago, Harris "tanked in the polls as soon as she got national exposure during the Democratic debates.  Throughout her presidential run, Gallup never found her to have higher favorables than unfavorables. ... They're still bad. [...]"

So.  Harris.  In a move surprising no one, Joe Biden has picked Kamala Harris as his running mate.  The tokenism is obvious, but her history as a prosecutor is [an affront] to the defund the police crowd.  In one sense it mirrors Obama's pick of Biden himself for VP:  A poor rival that was easily bested.  But even though Biden only garnered 1% of Iowa caucus votes in 2008, Harris didn't even make it to the Iowa caucuses, doing so badly on the campaign trail that she dropped out in December.  Let's stroll through a list of "Kamala Harris Greatest Hits": [...]

Treat Kamala like they treated Palin.  Obama said of Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin in 2008, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig."  Now Democrats want us to speak no ill of their token female nominee for VP. [...] NBC's report did not mention Governor Palin at all, and certainly not the vicious attacks by the media and the rest of the Democrat Party.  Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett whined on MSNBC, "Deal with the substance.  Don't talk about what she looks like. ... Let's stop describing us with words you wouldn't use to describe a man."  Does that mean we can mock her skin color like Democrats mock the Orange Man?

Flashback: Father of Kamala Harris Details on How Their Ancestors Owned Slaves.  The father of Kamala Harris detailed how their ancestors owned slaves, an inconvenient part of her history as she has spent much of her campaign focusing on race politics.  The Democrats have been up in arms about an NBC News report that detailed how Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's great-great-grandfathers owned slaves in Alabama in the 1800s.

Joe Biden's Awful Vice Presidential Pick.  Usually, the vice presidential pick means little or nothing.  The vice presidency is a uniquely powerless office, and presidents rarely hand over power to their vice presidents.  But Joe Biden will be 78 in November and appears to be slipping significantly mentally — despite CNN's protestations that he can still ride a bicycle.  There is a reason nearly 6 in 10 Americans, according to a new Rasmussen poll, think Biden's vice president will finish his first term.  So Biden had one task:  to pick a vice president who would appear nonthreatening, mainstream and generally normal.  The onus would then lie with President Trump to shift the spotlight from his own campaign.  Biden couldn't do it.  He made an early error on that score when he declared publicly that he would pick a woman.  This made it obvious that Biden was seeking a token — some sop for the woke progressives in his base.  And that sop opened the door to further demands:  the demand, for example, that he pick not merely a woman but a black woman.

Never Forget:  Senate Voted Unanimously to Rebuke Anti-Christian Remarks by Kamala Harris and Support Religious Freedom in US.  It's widely understood that Democrats are no longer afraid to hide their anti-Christian bigotry from the American public.  In September 2017, Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein led the attacks on Catholic Judge Amy Barrett saying, "the dogma lives loudly within you."  Senator Dick Durbin from Illinois accused Judge Barrett of being an "Orthodox Catholic" — a term used as a smear against observant Catholics.  Then in January 2018 Democrats continued to show their dark bigotry against American Christians.  Far Left Senators Kamala Harris and Mazie Hirono attacked Judge Brian Buescher for his membership into the Knights of Columbus.  The Knights of Columbus is an esteemed Catholic men's group founded in 1882 and dedicated to charitable work.

CNN Says the Quiet Part Out Loud About Harris Taking Over For Biden.  Can we all just stop pretending Biden is in charge of this ticket?  CNN probably won't, but for a brief moment in time last night, the liberal network managed to say the quiet part out loud about Harris taking over for Biden. [...] Regardless, here's what you normally don't do when a VP candidate is chosen for a ticket.  You don't immediately begin to speculate the top of the ticket is so incapable of doing the job that he may not finish out his first term.  That's usually a red flag to not make that person president in the first place.  But we are living in a reality where defeating Trump overtakes all common sense for the left, to the point where the media are salivating at the thought of a senile old man being elected because they can just swap him out for Harris when the time is right.

Reminder: Kamala's Big Lie During the Kavanaugh Hearing, Even Politifact Busted Her.  [Scroll down]  But perhaps one of the things that was most unappealing about Harris was how she treated Brett Kavanaugh during the hearings on his nomination for the Supreme Court.  It's a good reminder for Americans how disturbed they were about what Democrats did.  One of the principals in that deceitful political effort to smear Kavanaugh was Kamala Harris.  She even went after him with an edited video trying to trap him in a "lie" when she was actually using an edited video to frame him and make him look bad.  But she got busted so badly that even Politifact called her out on it.

Applause Breaks Out at MSNBC as Biden Picks Kamala Harris.  Applause broke out from at least one person on MSNBC as Joe Biden picked Kamala Harris to be his vice presidential nominee.  The network turned to MSNBC analyst Claire McCaskill, a former Democratic senator.  Brian Williams breathlessly reported the breaking news:  "I am just being told we have a pick and it's Kamala Harris of California."  Clapping could be heard off-camera.  Since this is MSNBC and that could be any person at the network, Williams clarified, "For the record, those applause [sic] were from Claire McCaskill."  Of course McCaskiill [sic] was thrilled:  "Well, she's going to be a terrific vice president.... I just think she's a terrific pick.  And I think she's going to be a great vice president and a particularly strong candidate."

Trump campaign calls Biden VP Kamala Harris 'a phony,' Biden's 'political living will'.  President Trump's re-election campaign on Tuesday lashed Joe Biden's running mate Kamala Harris as a "phony" who buried her prosecutorial record in order to "appease the anti-police extremists controlling the Democrat Party," and the Democratic candidate's "political living will."  Trump also tweeted a brutal campaign video dubbing the duo "Slow Joe" and "Phony Kamala" in a preview of the battle to unfold over the next 86 days before the November election.  The opening salvo came just minutes after the Democratic nominee announced the senator from California as his vice president.

Bernie supporters, progressives trash Biden-Harris ticket.  Some progressives expressed their frustration and condemnation of Joe Biden's selection of Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., as his running mate.  Ever since Biden became the presumptive Democratic nominee, there has been an ongoing debate on the left as to who he could pick as his vice president that can motivate enough of the base, including supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to support the ticket in November.  On Tuesday [8/11/2020], Biden announced that Harris would be his vice president.  Sanders himself extended his support for his Senate colleague and former 2020 rival.

Flashback — Kamala Harris: 'I Believe' Biden Accusers.  In April 2019, senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) said she believed the women who said they felt uncomfortable after being touched by former Vice President and presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden.  Senator Harris said last year at one of her campaign events that she believed accusers of Joe Biden, according to a report by The Hill.  "I believe them and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it," said Harris at an April 2019 event in Nevada.

15 Democrats Who Lasted Longer Than Kamala Harris in the Primary.  The Democrat's presumptive nominee Joe Biden named his former primary opponent Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his running mate Tuesday, despite her notoriously poor performance in the 2020 primaries.  The California Democrat launched her presidential campaign in January 2019 with great fanfare.  But despite the fawning media coverage hailing her as the "frontrunner" and the "candidate to beat," Harris' campaign crashed and burned two months before a single vote was cast.

Joe Biden Reads from Script While Talking to Kamala Harris on Zoom.  Former Vice President Joe Biden appeared to have a script before him during a video call via Zoom with Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), who was selected by his campaign to be his running mate on Tuesday.  One America News's Jack Posobiec made the observation on Twitter while sharing a photo released by Adam Schultz, the photographer for Biden's presidential campaign.  Schultz photographed Biden during a video call with Harris, describing the image as capturing the moment Biden advised Harris of her selection. "[Joe Biden] picks [Kamala Harris] for VP at his home in Delaware today over zoom," he wrote on his Instagram post.

'Don't get muzzled': Sarah Palin offers Kamala Harris advice after VP pick.  Sarah Palin congratulated Kamala Harris and offered some advice after Joe Biden picked her to be his running mate.  "Congrats to the democrat VP pick," Palin said in an Instagram post after the announcement.  "Climb upon Geraldine Ferraro's and my shoulders, and from the most amazing view in your life consider lessons we learned."  Palin, who was John McCain's running mate during his unsuccessful 2008 presidential campaign, included a list of lessons she learned during her time campaigning.

Is Kamala Harris eligible to be Joe Biden's VP?  Is Kamala Harris a natural born citizen?  It is no secret that Harris wants to be Joe Biden's vice president.  The junior senator from California clearly sees an opening to her real objective: the presidency of the United States. [...] Harris would love to "back door" her way into the presidency, especially given the fact that her vacuous campaign was an unmitigated disaster, and any future presidential ambitions looked to be a virtual impossibility only a few months ago.  But not so fast.  Harris is constitutionally ineligible to be VPOTUS (12th Amendment) or POTUS (Article 2).  She is not — nor can she ever be — a natural born citizen, the highest standard of citizenship mandated by the Constitution for the president and commander-in-chief.

Natural born Citizen:  Kamala Harris.  There are rumblings that Kamala Harris may not be eligible to be Vice President under the 12th Amendment, by virtue of her not being eligible to be President since she is not a 'natural born Citizen' ("no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States").  The theory is that while she was born in the United States (Oakland, CA), some combination of her parents not being citizens at the time or not being naturally born Citizens themselves renders her not a natural born Citizen.  I examined a similar issue in 2013 with regard to Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal, and Ted Cruz, and concluded in an 11,000-word analysis that they were eligible. [...] I see nothing that distinguishes Harris from those three Republicans, even assuming her parents were not U.S. citizens at the time of her birth in Oakland.  There are many reasons to vote against Kamala Harris, but she is eligible.

Former San Francisco mayor urges Kamala Harris to 'politely decline' VP slot, aim for AG instead.  Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown has urged Sen. Kamala Harris to "politely decline" a spot on Joe Biden's ticket if the 2020 presumptive Democratic nominee chooses her as his running mate.  In an op-ed headlined "Brown:  Kamala Harris should say no to vice presidency" published by the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday, Brown, who has openly discussed his past extramarital relationship with Harris, urged her to reject the vice presidency and request instead to be considered for the role of attorney general in a Biden administration.

Desperate: Biden grasps for Gretchen Whitmer as potential running mate.  [Scroll down]  Then there was Sen. Kamala Harris, the dirty-cop prosecutor who slept her way to the top with California's power-godfather, Willie Brown, accused Biden of being a racist during the debates, and got nowhere when she campaigned in Iowa.  Her fake smiling was obvious to the Midwesterners who rejected her before she even got a chance to run in a primary, meaning she'd bring nothing to the party, maybe not even California, and worse still for Joe, she's got the lean and hungry look, with likely realistic suspicions going around that she would seek Joe's job.

So it's Senator Kamala Harris?  Want to bet?  Former Vice President Joe Biden seems to have announced Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate.  There was an inquisitive photographer's shot of his notes suggesting just that.  But there's also some question about whether she's really qualified.  The media has already seeded the ground with quotes from some of the dumbest lawyers in America to state she is a "natural born citizen" under Article II of the U.S. Constitution, and is therefore, eligible to be vice president or president.  Is that really true?  Kamala Harris' mother was Shyamala Gopalan, born in British India (present-day Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu).  Ms. Gopalan never became a naturalized U.S. citizen.  Donald Harris, Senator Harris' father, is a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Jamaica.  There are no provisions in the U.S. Constitution that qualifies a child born of a foreign national as a natural-born citizen and Senator Harris is not eligible to hold the office of the vice president.

Biden notes show talking points about Kamala Harris.  Former Vice President Joe Biden was photographed during an event Tuesday holding talking points about Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), a former rival in the Democratic presidential primary who is in top contention to be his running mate.  As he answered reporters' questions at a campaign event in Delaware, Biden was seen holding a note pad with the first line under Harris's name apparently stating that he does "not hold grudges," seemingly in reference to a fierce clash between the two at a primary debate earlier this year.  His notes also underscore that Harris "campaigned with me & Jill," is "talented" and has been a "great help to [the] campaign."

Kamala Gets a Reverse Michael Jackson.  It appears that the Voodoo Queen had some work done, and had her nose widened to look less Caucasian.  This tells Diogenes two things.  1) That she is Joe's V.P. pick and 2) that she already knows it.

Report: Kamala Harris Bored as Senator, Misses Being Able to Lock People Up.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) is "frustrated by the bureaucracy" in Washington and pines for the authority she enjoyed as attorney general of California, according to the New York Times.  In other words, she misses being able to lock people up — for minor drug offenses, for truancy, and so on.  The Times reported Monday that Harris "has mused to allies about missing the control afforded to her" as a chief prosecutor.  As attorney general of California, for example, Harris shunned progressive concerns about "criminal justice reform" in favor of a ruthlessly aggressive approach to law enforcement.

Kamala Harris is not your vice president.  Little over a week on from the sad demise of the Kamala Harris presidential campaign, the California senator is the bookies' favorite to be the Democratic vice presidential candidate.  Yes, despite her candidacy's high-point coming at the expense of Joe Biden in the first debate — shivving the front-runner for holding a stance on busing remarkably similar to her own — there have been rumblings about her being the right woman to balance his ticket.

Rebels without a cause.  Kamala Harris quit the 2020 presidential race. [...] What's the connection between the fall of the "female Obama" and an endemic but non-party-led global unrest?  The connection may be the decline of millennialism. [...] Millennialism rests on the assumption that some kind of apocalyptic battle — capitalism vs. communism, jihad vs. infidel, climate warriors vs. deniers. etc. — is at hand.  Naturally, a struggle of such importance had to be won by any means necessary.  A select vanguard, party, or movement were the people to do the job.  Sacrifices would have to be made, collateral damage endured, but no matter; victory would bring a millennial kingdom into being where the masses or even the planet would live happily ever after.  For decades this kind of thinking ruled progressive politics.  But the problem was that the vision proved a mirage.  Improvement, when it came, was the result of the creativity of millions, not the state planner.

Kamala Harris should never have run for president.  California Sen. Kamala Harris should never have run for president in the first place.  Her ambition far exceeded her ability.  She hadn't yet established herself in the U.S. Senate.  And she hadn't exactly excelled in her previous job as California's attorney general.  There wasn't much of a record worth bragging about on the campaign trail.  After being elected to the Senate in a 2016 cakewalk, she should have spent the next three years focused exclusively on representing Californians in Congress, helping the state on such vital issues as water development, environmental protection, healthcare and homelessness.  But people around her — political advisors and her sister Maya Harris — convinced the senator she could be a female Barack Obama and be elected the first woman president.  And wouldn't it be a kick to be the Democrat who brought down President Trump?

Three Reasons Kamala Harris Crashed.  Sen. Kamala Harris, once considered a 2020 presidential Democratic frontrunner, ended her bid for the nomination on Tuesday, citing a lack of funds.  "I'm not a billionaire.  I can't fund my own campaign," she wrote in an email to supporters.  "And as the campaign has gone on, it's become harder and harder to raise the money we need to compete."  Harris becomes the second major candidate to drop out of the primary race before Iowa, joining Beto O'Rourke, who bowed out last month after failing to gain significant support and running out of money.

Kamala Harris Goes Down Fighting.  Unbridled ambition and aggression have their place in presidential politics — as the man in the Oval Office reminded the nation in 2016  — but in the case of California freshman Sen. Kamala Harris, they weren't enough to overcome the lack of a clear policy vision.  The candidate who threw some of the hardest punches on the debate stage ended her presidential bid after high hopes faded amid a string of underwhelming results.  Her quest concluded with an open letter.  Her campaign, Harris admitted Tuesday, is broke.

Good Riddance to Kamala Harris.  [Scroll down]  Harris is a woman who, if successful ("successful"), would have overseen the mass confiscation of millions of firearms, the seizing of patents, the federalization of abortion law, and, depending on the polling, the elimination of (her word) the private health insurance plans of 180 million people.  Everything that is wrong with American politics is summed up in Kamala Harris.  She's a weather vane.  She's dishonest.  She's a coward.  She's condescending.  And she's a phony.  She's the answer to no useful or virtuous question.  Nothing good has come from her election.  She has nothing of value to offer America.  Goodbye.

Kamala Harris, the Juggernaut Who Flopped.  [Scroll down]  In January, Harris said she wanted to eliminate private health insurance, then backed away from that position.  In August, she said she wasn't comfortable with Bernie Sanders' legislation creating Medicare for All, but people pointed out she cosponsored that bill.  Harris said the country should consider allowing convicted felons to vote from prison, then said she opposed the idea. [...] Most of Harris's reversals suggest a campaigner who wanted to be the woke dream candidate, but then belatedly recognized that woke positions might not be as popular or workable as she initially believed them to be.  She was asking people to have faith in her judgment, while she herself appeared to not trust her own judgment.

Harris is gone.  Good riddance to a lying, hypocritical authoritarian.  Harris, a former prosecutor in San Francisco and attorney general of California, had performed swimmingly in one of the two Democratic debate sessions held in late June.  She made a real impression by taking former Vice President Joe Biden down a notch.  Although she carefully avoided using the word, she insinuated that Biden's erstwhile opposition to federally mandated busing made him a racist.  This was exactly what the voters in today's ever-more extreme and uber-woke Democratic primary wanted to hear.  Harris's support swelled in the weeks that followed; two polls showed her in second place nationally, at 17% and 20%.  But then came that July 31 debate. Kamala Harris's staff quits and tells media her campaign is a disaster.  While the field of Democrats running for the party's presidential nomination contains some seriously scorn-worthy politicians, Kamala Harris is the worst of the lot when it comes to dishonesty, hypocrisy, and a willingness to say or do anything to advance her career.  When she launched her campaign with a rally in Oakland, I was worried about the organizational capabilities that brought a claimed 20,000 people to downtown Oakland to cheer her on toward the White House.  A woman who began her political career by sexually servicing a decades' older powerful male politician who bestowed public office on her should not get anywhere near the Oval Office as its tenant.

Harris aide, in resignation letter, says 'I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly'.  A top aide to Kamala Harris gave a damning assessment of the California senator's struggling campaign in her resignation letter, declaring that she has never seen an organization "treat its staff so poorly" and accused the campaign of encouraging people to move across states — only to lay them off without notice.  "This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly," Kelly Mehlenbacher, then the state operations director for Harris' campaign, said in the letter obtained by The New York Times.  "While I still believe that Senator Harris is the strongest candidate to win in the General Election in 2020, I no longer have confidence in our campaign or its leadership."

Kamala Harris, the $6 million candidate, proudly tells us she's never had a non-government job.  All the rest of us who somehow managed to work in the private sector, are tainted.  The private sector is dirty, see, and anyone who's ever worked in it is motivated by filthy lucre.  Only she is "pure."

Kamala Harris' Campaign In Free Fall, ABC Blames 'America'.  As Sen. Kamala Harris' (D-CA) campaign for her party's presidential nomination continues to implode, some in the media are looking for answers.  ABC News shot first, asking if Harris "proof that America isn't ready for a woman of color as president?"  The article began with quotes from Harris making the argument herself.  She had previously spoken about her "electability" several times, and in May she went ahead and wondered whether "America was ready for a woman and a woman of color to be president of the United State of America."  She made the claim on "The View."  This statement set her up with the tired and ready-made excuse in case she lost the primary:  It's because America is racist and misogynist.

Kamala Harris, polling at 3 percent, hearing calls for campaign manager's resignation.  Sen. Kamala Harris, whose campaign cut staff in a dramatic restructuring last month, is now polling at just 3 percent, tying her with Michael Bloomberg for fifth place among the Democratic Party's presidential nominees — according to a poll released Friday [11/15/2019] — even though Bloomberg hasn't even formally announced his 2020 candidacy.  And now Harris may be facing another problem:  A second report Friday described internal strife at Harris' Baltimore campaign headquarters, with several aides calling for campaign manager Juan Rodriguez's resignation [...]

Kamala Harris Campaign Collapses Under Perception of Law and Order.  When President Donald Trump was elected in 2016, Kamala Harris appeared to hold the pole position to challenge him in 2020.  And yet, three short years later, she has already conceded New Hampshire, is polling even worse in Iowa, and is at 4.5% nationally.  Even in her home state of California, she is back from the front pack.  This has been the biggest surprise of the Democrat primary, since she started from such an apparent position of strength.  On paper, she is an intersectional Democrat dream candidate with her mixed Indian and black heritage.  She is also brutally liberal at a time when the Democrat base is pining for liberal purity.  While she may not identify as a pure socialist in the way Bernie Sanders does, she is cut from similar cloth.  That's why the leftist media loved her.  They recognized one of their own.

Kamala Harris proposes incentives for schools to extend school days by three hours.  Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., introduced legislation on Wednesday that would incentivize school districts to extend school days as a way of accommodating parents' work schedules.  The program would offer five-year, $5 million grants for schools to "develop high-quality, culturally relevant, linguistically accessible, developmentally appropriate academic, athletic or enrichment opportunities for students."

Obviously this is an incremental step toward a complete 24/7 usurpation of parental rights.  It is also a political payback to the teachers' unions.  And what does "linguistically accessible" mean?  I suspect it means the proposed day care program won't include a word of English.

The real reason Kamala Harris is tanking.  California Sen. Kamala Harris' bid for the Democratic presidential nomination is imploding even before President Trump could think up an insulting nickname for her.  Once regarded as the Democrats' best hope to take down Trump, Harris has seen her polls collapse, her donations tumble, and her campaign in shambles.  She claims her woes show that the country is just "not ready for a woman of color" to be president.  This is rot.  What the country is not ready for is another cynical and self-serving bully-in-chief who, in her case, is masquerading as a progressive.

Whither Kamala Harris?  A Failed-State Senator's Failing Campaign.  The junior senator from California, Kamala Harris, is laying off dozens of campaign staffers and redirecting most of her dwindling resources to Iowa.  In recent polls, Harris has cratered to just 3 percent, falling behind Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.  Harris memorably slighted Gabbard after a July debate.  "I'm obviously a top-tier candidate," she explained.  "There are a lot of people that are trying to make the stage for the next debate. ... Kamala Harris wants Kavanaugh impeached after newly surfaced sexual misconduct accusation.  The report of a new sexual misconduct allegation against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has sparked fury among figures on both the left and right.  In a Sunday morning [9/15/2019] tweet, President Donald Trump accused the "LameStream Media" and Democrats of colluding to scare Kavanaugh "into turning Liberal."  And on the left, Democratic presidential candidates former HUD Secretary Julián Castro, former Rep. Beto O'Rourke, and U.S. Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Kamala Harris of California called for Kavanaugh's impeachment.

New Book:  Christine Blasey Ford's Friend Leland Keyser Doesn't Believe Her.  Buried at the end of their new book "The Education of Brett Kavanaugh:  An Investigation," reporters Robin Pogebrin and Kate Kelly quietly admit that Christine Blasey Ford's lifelong friend Leland Keyser did not believe her friend's tale of a sexual assault at a party they both supposedly attended.  Keyser was named by Ford as a witness, one of four who denied any knowledge of the event in question.  The book offers no evidence in support of the allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford, but, they write, their "gut reaction" was that her allegations "rang true."  Their "gut" instinct was based on the fact that Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh grew up in the same rough area and she had dated one of his friends.  Further, Leland Keyser had gone out on a date — maybe even two dates, they're not sure — with a friend of Kavanaugh's.  "None of that means that Ford was, in fact, assaulted by Kavanaugh," they write, "But it does mean that she has a baseline level of credibility as an accuser."  It is unclear what they mean.

Democratic Candidates Want To Punish Energy Companies To Satisfy Left-Wing Nuts.  Democratic presidential candidates have gone so far off the rails that they are now even fabricating their records to promote policies so far to the left that they are at odds with many former top Obama Administration officials.  Last week, Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) lied and said she sued Exxon Mobil when she was California's attorney general.  In reality, she did not sue Exxon — she only investigated the oil company.  While this demonstrates Harris's loose relationship with the truth, it does show she thinks it's good to sue Exxon and other energy companies.  Harris supports climate litigation, even if she hasn't pushed it herself.  Climate litigation aims to punish energy companies for the sake of the environment.  These lawsuits don't actually help the environment, but they do waste taxpayer dollars on behalf of politicians' ambitions, and enrich plaintiff attorneys.

Harris Agrees With Salon Editor on Police Officers:  They 'Just Harass and Take Up Space In Poor Communities'.  Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.) acknowledged Salon's editor-at-large D. Watkins was "right" about police officers after he claimed "they just harass and take up space in poor communities."  Harris's campaign released a 31-minute campaign video on Monday [9/9/2019] that included Harris speaking with black leaders about the U.S. criminal justice system.  Near the beginning of the video, Watkins criticized police officers and their role in poor communities.

Kamala Harris proposes legalizing marijuana, ending bail, eliminating death penalty.  Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris unveiled a proposal Monday to broadly reform the criminal justice system aimed at ending mass incarceration, helping felons reintegrate into society and increasing oversight of police and prosecutors.  The senator and former California attorney general plans to legalize marijuana, eliminate the death penalty for federal crimes, end federal mandatory minimum sentencing, scrap the cash-bail system, reduce the incarceration of juveniles, stop the use of private prisons and clear the nationwide rape kit backlog during her first term.

Pro-Abortion Kamala Harris Tells Trump Admin: 'A Society Is Judged Based On How It Treats Children'.  Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris tweeted Thursday [9/5/2019] that "society is judged based on how it treats children," but the California senator has also said she wants to "protect every woman's constitutional right to abortion."  Harris re-tweeted a Bloomberg article Thursday that criticized President Donald Trump's "policy of separating migrant children from their families" resulting in minors suffering "fear, post-traumatic stress and other mental health problems," which cites a watchdog.  She captioned the tweet warning the Trump administration that it will be judged harshly for how it treats children.

Kamala Harris wants to ban plastic straws but says paper straws [are] too 'flimsy'.  Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., said Wednesday [9/4/2019] during a CNN climate change forum that the U.S. should ban plastic straws while answering a question about curbing the country's reliance on single-use plastics.  But Harris also said she wants to "encourage innovation" around paper straws that break too often.  "I think we should, yes.  I mean.  Look, I'm going to be honest.  It's really difficult out of — drink out of a paper straw — like, if you don't gulp it down immediately, it starts to bend, and then the little thing catches it," Harris says, making a snapping motion with her hands and laughing.

Attorney General Kamala Harris Was Even Worse Than You Think.  Anyone interested in justice was entitled to feel a Chris Matthews thrill up their leg when Tulsi Gabbard went after Kamala Harris for her record as state attorney general at the Detroit debate.  Gabbard pointed out that as California's AG, Harris refused to allow DNA testing that would've exonerated a death-row inmate and prosecuted over a thousand marijuana cases — though as a candidate she later laughed with a radio host about her own pot smoking past.  But that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Harris's tenure.

Kamala Harris Tanks with Non-White Voters.  Democrat presidential contender Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) is collapsing in national polling, including with non-white voters.  After a disastrous six weeks, Harris is once again a third-tier candidate, right along with two other media creations:  former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-TX) and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg.  For a short time, after the first Democrat debate, Harris surged into the top tier.  Her well-rehearsed and well-executed attack on frontrunner Joe Biden on the issue of race and busing lifted her into double-digits.

Kamala Harris slammed for 'politicizing' Philadelphia standoff.  Sen. Kamala Harris faced criticism Wednesday [8/14/2019] for promoting her campaign's gun control plan during an appearance on CNN that coincided with breaking news about the police standoff in Philadelphia in which six officers were shot.  "When will it stop?" the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate from California asked CNN's Wolf Blitzer when he asked for her reaction to the initial reports of the shooting.  "And I stress initial reports," Blitzer added.  As Harris related details of her plan, information about the ongoing standoff was still sketchy.  Social media was quick to deride the presidential candidate for "politicizing" the developing situation before most of the relevant facts were known.

One of the relevant facts was that the shooter was a black man with a long criminal history who should have been locked up long ago.  That's probably not the kind of politicization Ms. Harris had in mind.

Kamala Harris Says She's Willing To Have Police Forcibly Take "Banned" Guns From Your Home.  They're not coming for your guns, we're told.  No, they are, and at least California Senator Kamala Harris is fully willing to send police to your home to take your guns from you.  According to the Washington Examiner, when asked if Harris would send law enforcement to homes to seize banned firearms, Harris answered in the affirmative.

Kamala Harris [is] willing to send [police] to people's homes to confiscate banned firearms.  California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris gave details about her gun control proposals in the wake of the deadly El Paso, Texas shooting after she addressed union members at the AFSCME forum at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on Saturday [8/3/2019].  When asked by the Washington Examiner if her plan would include legal gun owner databases or gun confiscation via law enforcement visits to residents who own banned firearms, she replied, "I'm actually prepared to take executive action to put in place rules that improve this situation."

Presidency Inc..  Kamala Harris is a first-term senator adept at the 'clap-back,' not an especially coveted skill when it comes to commanding a military, and beyond that is known for little except the vast numbers of people she's thrown in prison.

Kamala Harris: 'Babies Will Be Born into Our Plan,' but Plan Allows Free Abortions.  Democrat 2020 contender Sen. Kamala Harris (CA) said during the Democrat debate Wednesday [7/31/2019] that her Medicare for All health plan would start up quickly and that "babies will be born into our plan," but her plan would also allow free abortions at taxpayer expense. [...] Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said Harris's plan is "yet another example of Democrats' extremism on abortion."  "The latest call for taxpayer-funded abortion on demand through birth under Medicare for All might please the Democrats' most radical pro-abortion base in the primaries," she added, "but this agenda is wildly unpopular with the American people."

Kamala Harris Must Think Voters Are Pretty Dumb.  After going back and forth and back and forth about whether she would eliminate private insurance and shove every American into Medicare, Kamala Harris thinks she's found a solution.  Shove everyone into Medicare, but do it a little more slowly and pretend that private insurers will still be involved.  No doubt the Democratic California senator is reading the same polls as everyone else.  Namely, that the public thinks it likes "Medicare for All" until it learns what it means.  Then support evaporates.  But Harris still wants to appeal to the Democrats' increasingly socialist base.

Bazelon added, "Most troubling, Ms. Harris fought tooth and nail to uphold wrongful convictions that had been secured through official misconduct that included evidence tampering, false testimony and the suppression of crucial information by prosecutors."

Can a serious Democrat please run for president?  Let's begin with Sen. Kamala Harris, who received a lot of attention for her debate performance on June 27.  As an act of political theatrics, her confrontation with former Vice President Joe Biden over the latter's opposition to federally mandated busing of students to desegregate school districts during the 1970s was the undisputed highlight of the opening two-night Democratic debate.  It was a gripping performance.  But it was also absurd.  Is anyone — including Harris herself — in favor of reviving busing as a federal policy?  Is there any evidence that such a policy is less polarizing in 2019 than it was in the mid-1970s, when it helped to conjure out of thin air that historically decisive electoral demographic known as the Reagan Democrat?  The answer to both questions is no.

Spot the racists in the Democrats' president field.  Is Democratic presidential candidate, Kamala Harris a racist because she has proposed a $100-billion housing subsidy only for people of color?  Even if they earn as much as $125K a year or more than twice the U.S. household median income of $60,336 in 2017.  Not since the passage of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1868 has the federal government passed a race-based financial subsidy.  Since at least the 1860s, federal funds have been colorblind and have given to all based on need as defined by income, not race.  Providing funds based on race is, of course, unconstitutional, but lawyer and former state attorney general Harris does not care.  She is trying to prove she can compete in the socialist giveaway of your and our children's money.  She is trying to prove she is the blackest black in the room.

Kamala Harris proposes $100 billion plan for black homeownership.  Kamala Harris, calling on the nation to "deal with the racial wealth gap," on Saturday [7/6/2019] proposed a $100 billion federal program to help black people buy homes.  The California senator said the plan, which would provide down payment and closing cost assistance of up to $25,000 to people renting or living in historically red-lined communities, would help some 4 million home-buyers.

Ritual Suicide of the Democratic Party.  [Scroll down]  From Obamaphones to Harrishouses.  Obviously the government can't say openly that it is discriminating against whites, Asians and Hispanics by offering $25,000 only to black individuals or families.  Harris's transparent workaround is to limit eligibility to "historically red-lined communities."  I have no opinion, offhand, on whether that dodge could pass constitutional muster, but in any event, there is zero chance of it being enacted.

The Lost Left.  [Kamala] Harris might have seized the title of Panderer-in-Chief over the weekend when, on Saturday [7/6/2019], she spoke at the Essence Festival in New Orleans and proposed $100 billion in grants for black people to put down payments on houses — an idea so blatantly racist and unconstitutional as to offend the senses before one even gets into the cruel and brutally deficient economics that underlie it.  Harris doesn't sport a sequined cowboy hat as Wilson does, which means she doesn't mark herself as an imbecile before subjecting an audience to her ideas.  But if she's the best the Democrats have for the presidential race next year, they're in far worse shape than cooked-up polls and MSNBC cheerleading will lead them to believe.

Kamala Harris stars as 2020 presidential candidates pitch African American voters at Essence Fest.  Some of the top rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination appeared at Essence Fest in New Orleans on Saturday [7/6/2019].  But as Democratic presidential candidates lined up for the chance to appeal directly to black women — which candidates have increasingly seen as a critical voting block — there was little doubt the main attraction was Kamala Harris.

Sen. Kamala Harris: 'We Have a Predator Living in the White House'.  Speaking to supporters at a town hall in Des Moines, Iowa, sponsored by NARAL Pro-Choice America on Wednesday, Sen. Kamala Harris called President Donald Trump "a predator."  As a prosecutor, Harris said she successfully prosecuted "big banks who preyed on homeowners, prosecuted pharmaceutical companies who preyed on seniors, prosecuted transnational criminal organizations who preyed on women and children, and I will tell you, we have a predator living in the White House."

Kamala Harris may live to regret exposing her ruthlessness with bogus busing attack on Biden.  Kamala Harris is scary in her pathological ambition, moral flexibility, comfort with deception, and sheer ruthlessness.  She may have erred in prematurely exposing those traits in the very first round of Democrat presidential debates, allowing her competitors to recognize the threat she poses to all of them, and to formulate appropriate countermeasures.

Kamala Harris is the most cynical and dishonest 2020 Democrat — and it just might work.  Most recently, Harris has surged toward the top of the crowded Democratic field after a masterful debate performance in which she seemingly took two bold stands: backing the elimination of private health insurance and supporting federally mandated busing.  On healthcare, she obfuscated the next morning, retreating to her red herring position that emphasizes allowing for private "supplemental" coverage.  In reality, the plan would kick 180 million people off of their current private insurance plans and place them on a single government-run plan, and would only allow insurers to offer benefits not on the government plan.  But the government plan promises comprehensive medical, dental, optical, and prescription drug coverage, so in reality there would be effectively no role for private insurance.

Kamala Harris Has A Bigger Problem Than Forced Busing.  [Scroll down]  Harris climbing out on limbs is part of an underlying pattern of high-risk publicity-seeking.  For example, during the confirmation hearings for Justice Brett Kavanaugh, she raised her profile by asking the nominee:  "Have you discussed the Mueller investigation with anyone at Kasowitz Benson Torres, the law firm founded by Marc Kasowitz, President Trump's personal lawyer?  Be sure about your answer, sir."  Harris grilled Kavanaugh about this for at least five minutes.  It was as dramatic and as empty as Geraldo Rivera opening Al Capone's vault; if Harris had any evidence of Kavanaugh talking to Trump's lawyers, she never produced it.

San Francisco vs.  Frisco.  Sen. Kamala Harris leaped upward in the polls by denouncing Joe Biden for opposing racial school busing in the 1970s, citing how she was bused in Berkeley as a child. [...] Ironically, Harris' old Berkeley school district has today, despite its high level of integration, the worst test-score racial gap in the United States, with its median black student testing at only the fifth percentile of its white students.

Kamala 2020 Makes Obama 2008 Look Positively Right Wing.  With the first primary still eight long months away, making any sort of prediction about the Democratic candidates is pointless.  Nevertheless, some have noticed an interesting parallel shaping up, one that involves an old Democrat with plenty of establishment backing and a formidable lead in the polls, and a young, biracial newcomer with a winning smile and an exotic first name.  Except that where Barack Obama tried to portray himself as a sensible centrist in 2008, Sen. Kamala Harris is among the most radical in the large crop of far-left Democratic candidates hoping to run against President Trump.

When Will Race-Baiting Kamala Harris Acknowledge She Is A Descendent Of A Slave Owner?  Last week, at the Democratic debate in Miami, Presidential candidate Sen. Kamala [D-CA] stirred up a racial hornet's nest against former Vice President Joe Biden for his past pandering to segregationist senators decades ago.  "I do not believe you are a racist and I agree with you when you commit yourself to the importance of finding common ground," Harris said, publicly chastising Biden at last week's debate, "but it's personal and it was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States Senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country."  Harris' months-in-the-making, made-for-TV attack on Biden is largely seen as an attempt to lure black voters away from the Democratic frontrunner and to tarnish his image.  To date, however, no one has asked Harris about her own Jamaican family tree, which reportedly goes back to Jamaican plantation and slave owner Hamilton Brown.

Kamala Harris campaign lawyer hired Fusion GPS for Hillary Clinton.  The former top lawyer for Hillary Clinton's failed presidential campaign who hired Fusion GPS to carry out controversial opposition research against then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016 is now working for a top 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful.  Marc Elias, who heads Perkins Coie's political law group, became general counsel for California Sen. Kamala Harris' presidential bid this year.  Elias, who held the same position in Clinton's campaign, is named in two pending Federal Election Commission complaints and in a recent federal lawsuit alleging that the Clinton campaign broke campaign finance laws when it used Perkins Coie to hire Fusion GPS.

Kamala Harris:  I Will Not Let Trump Take America Back to Before Same-Sex Marriage Was Legal.  On Sunday MSNBC played a clip from the Alice B. Toklas Club Annual Pride Breakfast in San Francisco in which 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) said she was running for president so President Donald Trump could not take the country back before all couples could marry.  Harris said, "The current occupant of the White House has no appreciation, no interest clearly and probably no knowledge of this history, of this work."

Harris faces debate backlash.  Kamala Harris might be reveling in her sudden burst of attention after roasting Joe Biden over racial issues on the debate stage last week, but a backlash is already brewing.  Biden supporters and Democrats who have attended the former vice president's events in the days after the first nationally televised debate, are describing Harris' assault on Biden as an all-too-calculated overreach after she knocked him on his heels in a grilling over busing and his remarks on segregationist senators.

Rivals defend Kamala Harris against online attacks they compare to 'birtherism'.  A number of hopefuls for the Democratic nomination for president found common ground Saturday as they defended rival Sen. Kamala Harris against online allegations that she is not an "American Black."  Former Vice President Joe Biden, who clashed with Harris at Thursday's Democratic debate in Miami after she criticized his position five decades ago against school busing, said the social media attacks against the senator from California were clear echoes of "birtherism."  "Birtherism," promoted by some Republicans, including Donald Trump before he assumed the presidency, was a movement that denied former President Barack Obama was a natural-born U.S. citizen, implying he was ineligible to be president.

Pursuit of the facts is not something to be demeaned.  Birtherism is a pejorative term that was used to silence anyone who investigated the sketchy biography of Barack H. Obama, who evidently was an Indonesian citizen at one point in his life.  Nobody wanted to hear the details of Obama's life from birth through college, because Obama was seen as a black trailblazer and hero, and thus immune to criticism.  If Ms. Harris is lying about her biography, let's find out now, rather than after she's elected.

Kamala Harris has the least defensible healthcare position of any Democratic candidate.  Kamala Harris was the big winner overall in Thursday night's debate, but she also managed to create more confusion over her healthcare position.  With her subsequent "clarification," she has staked out the least defensible ground of any of the 2020 Democratic candidates.  Most of the Democratic field can be divided into two camps.  There are those who are unapologetically in favor of ending private insurance that covers 180 million Americans and forcing everybody onto a single government-run plan, and those who believe in creating some sort of optional government-run plan while allowing people to maintain their current coverage.

About Kamala Harris and Busing.  [Kamala] Harris, attacking Joe Biden for having collaborated with segregationist Democrats in the Senate to oppose school busing, claimed that she was bused as a kid, in Berkeley, and it did her a world of good.  Or something like that.  Given the demography and geography of Berkeley at the time — she was 10 years old in 1974 — it seems highly unlikely that Harris, the daughter of two PhDs, one from India and one from Jamaica, was bused into a white school so she could escape the ghetto and mix with the children of educated parents.  But that isn't what strikes me most forcibly about this story. [...] What I think is most remarkable about this story is that the Democrats are now nostalgic for busing!  Joe Biden is a villain because he opposed it decades ago, while Harris is a heroine, or a martyr, or something, because she participated in it.

Kamala Harris Defends Mothers Paying Human Traffickers to Bring Their Daughters to US.  Democrats refuse to secure the border.  They refuse to care for suffering Americans.  They refuse to defend their country.  But they LOVE talking about bringing hundreds of thousands of poor illegal aliens into the US.  And they LOVE talking about all of the freebies they want to give illegal alien children.

School busing and race tore L.A. apart in the 1970s.  Now, Kamala Harris is reviving debate.  Few issues divided Los Angeles more in the 1970s than school desegregation and busing.  It sparked protests and political movements — and led to white families fleeing from the Los Angeles Unified School District.  These issues came back to life at the Democratic presidential debate.  In a heated exchange, Kamala Harris accused Joe Biden of not taking a morally correct position in favor of an assertive federal role in the busing of students to achieve integration.

Is Kamala Harris telling the truth about her Berkeley days?  Last night, Kamala Harris repeated her story about how, thanks to busing, she was able to be part of only the second class to integrate in the Berkeley public school system.  She used this story to thrash Joe Biden, who offered anti-busing legislation as a U.S. Senator in the 1970s. [...] However, according to Gateway Pundit, Harris went to school in Berkeley for only two years before moving with her mother to Canada where she attended grade school and high school.

Kamala Harris says she misinterpreted question on abolishing private insurance.  NBC's Lester Holt asked for the 10 candidates on stage to raise their hands if their health care plans would "abolish their private health insurance in favor of a government-run plan?"  Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Harris were the only two candidates who put their hands up, but Harris said Friday [6/28/2019] she does not support getting rid of all private insurance.

On Father's Day, Kamala Harris Compares Military Dads to Illegal Aliens and Criminals.  Democratic Party presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (CA) posted Father's Day greetings to Twitter on Sunday comparing deployed military fathers who are away from their children on Father's Day to illegal aliens and accused criminals.  Harris listed them in presumed order of dearness to her heart, putting US military dads third behind first-in-her heart illegal aliens and accused criminals who can't make bail.

Kamala's Promise to End Right-to-Work Would Make Every State Like California.  Democratic presidential candidate and California Sen. Kamala Harris has said that if she's elected, she would issue an executive order to rescind hard-won worker freedom.  Maybe it's a "California value" to support conscripted unionism.  But before Harris' position becomes too hardened to walk back, she should consider how reforms would benefit workers in her home state.

Kamala Harris launched [her] political career with [a] $120K 'patronage' job from boyfriend Willie Brown.  Kamala Harris' first significant political role was an appointment by her powerful then-boyfriend Willie Brown, three decades her senior, to a California medical board that has been criticized as a landing spot for patronage jobs and kickbacks.  Then 30, Harris was dating 60-year-old Willie Brown, at the time the Democratic speaker of the California State Assembly, when he placed her on the California Medical Assistance Commission in 1994.  The position paid over $70,000 per year, $120,700 in current money, and Harris served on the board until 1998.

The Democrat Puff Piece Challenge.  Yes, the Democrats like to humanize their candidates, and why not?  Many if not most people vote on emotion, an imagined sense of connection. [...] Enter Kamala Harris.  When asked, she was unable to name her three favorite songs — big old brain freeze — perhaps because she hadn't formulated the perfect answer beforehand.  Then again, she claimed to have smoked weed in college while head-nodding to Snoop Dogg and Tupac, although neither had released an album by the time she graduated.  Must have been some good weed to make her hear songs from the future.

Harris Proposes Penalizing Corporate Profits to Eliminate Gender Pay Gap.  Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is proposing companies "pay" a hefty "price" for supposed wage disparities between men and women.  On Monday [5/20/2019], Harris's campaign unveiled a proposal to eliminate the gender pay gap.  Billed "as the most aggressive equal pay proposal in history," Harris's plan would require companies to apply for "equal pay certification" through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).  To receive certification, companies with more than 100 employees would be required to disclose compensation data showing no existing wage disparities between men and women for "work of equal value."

Kamala Harris Wants To Ban AR-15s With Executive Order.  Before she was a United States Senator, Kamala Harris was the attorney general for the state of California.  She's an attorney, like so many other legislators.  She studied and worked in the profession people approach for clarification on the laws of this great nation of ours.  Apparently, she managed to get to that point without ever attending a single civics class.  In the presidential hopeful's latest effort, she's decided that in her quest to dictate gun control by fiat, she'll also go after AR-15s and other so-called "assault rifles."

Kamala Harris:  Medicare for All Includes Illegal Aliens.  Sen. Kamala Harris, now running for the Democrat presidential nomination, says people in this country illegally should have access to public safety, public education, and public health — "period."  Harris, a guest on CNN's "State of the Union," said "I support Medicare for all.  It is my preferred policy." She said she supports the bill introduced by Sen. Bernie Sanders.  Host Jake Tapper noted that Sanders' bill says, "'Every individual who's a resident of the United States is entitled to benefits for health care services under the Senate.'  Not every individual who's a citizen, but every individual who's a resident."

Kamala Harris Pledges to Criminalize Private Gun Sales via Executive Action.  Democrat presidential hopeful Kamala Harris says she will use executive action to criminalize selling more than five guns a year without a background check.  This follows a consistent Democrat-led push to criminalize all private gun sales via universal background checks.  On February 27, Breitbart News reported that the Democrat-run House passed legislation to require a background check for every gun sale, thus criminalizing someone who sells a gun to a decades-long neighbor without government approval.  It also criminalizes a friend who sells a gun to a lifelong friend without asking for government approval.

Kamala Harris does an Elizabeth Warren in the kitchen.  Kamala Harris has always had a problem with authenticity — dating from her political start at Willie Brown's knee, so to speak, to her claim that she went to a racism-infested Berkeley high school in the 1980s, to her claims to smoking pot as a 'Jamaican' thang, something her real Jamaican father publicly corrected her on.  Now she's stepped in it again, posing in an apron and pearls and perfect makeup to whip up some of her famous jerk chicken marinade in her kitchen for her husband's Twitter feed.

Kamala Harris is pivoting left and punching at Trump to widen her appeal.  Sen. Kamala Harris, the California Democrat and 2020 presidential candidate, is attempting to strike a difficult balance between appeasing progressive activists and appealing to more moderate Democrats as her poll numbers fall.  California's former attorney general, Harris has found vocal critics within the progressive community — particularly among criminal justice activists and public interest attorneys who take issue with much of her 25-year-long prosecutorial record.  In February, an LGBTQ rights attorney at the ACLU wrote a searing indictment of Harris' record as attorney general on issues concerning transgender prisoners and sex work.

The rude awakening creeping up on Kamala Harris.  Joe Biden has yet to formally declare his presidential bid, but he's already complicating Kamala Harris' path to victory in a must-win state:  South Carolina.  The pivotal early primary state is the linchpin of Harris' strategy to capture the Democratic nomination, yet the former vice president's experience, pragmatism and close association with former President Barack Obama have given him a significant advantage here — even more so than in other states, according to more than two dozen interviews with state operatives and elected leaders, as well as public and private polling.

Kamala Harris calls for third gender option on federal IDs.  Presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris says she supports putting a third gender option on federal identification cards.  The Democrat from California backed the idea when asked about it during a town hall Tuesday in the first-in-the-nation presidential primary state of New Hampshire.  "It's a simple point.  There needs to be another category.  And I'm open to the idea of doing that.  And I think that it's a good idea," Harris told Fox News and New Hampshire's Concord Monitor during an interview later in the day.

Democrats are still lost on gun control and presidential power.  In Monday's [4/22/2019] Democratic presidential town hall, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., [...] promised that if elected president, after giving Congress 100 days to "get their act together" and move gun control legislation, she will "take executive action" that slightly expands the universe of gun sales covered by background checks.  It is worth mentioning here, just briefly, that Congress' job includes frustrating presidential ambitions like this one, just like its job includes preventing bad wars from being fought or border walls from being funded.  How incredible that Democrats still haven't learned, not even with Trump in office, that it's unhealthy for presidents to circumvent Congress in such matters.

Kamala Harris Flip Flops On Voting Rights For Murderers And Rapists In Less Than 24 Hours.  On Monday night [4/22/2019] during a series of televised CNN town halls with several of the Democratic candidates for president, Sens. Kamala Harris (CA) and Bernie Sanders (VT) both made startling statements about the rights of violent felons to vote.  Sanders, whose home state of Vermont is one of only two in the nation to allow imprisoned felons to vote, stated unequivocally that he supported the right to vote for "even for terrible people" who were in prison.  When Harris was asked the same question in her town hall, she hedged a bit but ultimately ended up saying "I think we should have that conversation."

A dictator is waiting in the wings:
Harris: I'll 'Take Executive Action' if Congress Doesn't Pass Gun Legislation in First 100 Days.  During a town hall on CNN on Monday, 2020 presidential candidate Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) vowed that if Congress doesn't pass gun legislation within the first 100 days of her administration, she will "take executive action."  Harris said, "Upon being elected, I will give the United States Congress 100 days to get their act together and have the courage to pass reasonable gun safety laws, and if they fail to do it, then I will take executive action."

Moving toward the center?
2020 Democrat Kamala Harris: 'I am a gun owner ... for personal safety'.  Sen. Kamala D. Harris, a 2020 presidential hopeful, said while campaigning in Iowa on Thursday that she owns a gun for personal protection and distanced herself from some of the more radical gun control proponents in her party.  "I am a gun owner, and I own a gun for probably the reason a lot of people do — for personal safety," she told reporters, calling it a necessity given her profession.  "I was a career prosecutor," she said.

Sen. Kamala Harris Proposes Giving Families Making Less Than $100K, a $6K Tax Credit.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) in a speech to Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network on Friday proposed giving families making less than $100,000 a year a $6,000 tax credit which they can draw from each month.  "I have proposed what economists have described as what would be the largest tax cut in a generation for working families who make less than $100,000 a year," she said.  "What I have proposed would be for families that make less than $100,00 a year, they will receive a tax credit of up to $6,000 that they can collect at up to $500 a month."

Why draw the lines right there?  Why set the limit at $100,000 and the payoff at $6,000?

Harris Donor's Past Raises Money-Influence Questions.  "My whole life," Kamala Harris told a crowd gathered in Oakland, Calif., for her presidential announcement, "I've only had one client:  the people."  The California progressive will soon deliver some iteration of that same message at a swank fundraiser hosted by Angelo Tsakopoulos, a multimillionaire with ties to corrupt politicians, a longtime patron of the Clinton family, a man who once bragged that staying in the Lincoln Bedroom was his proudest moment.  Harris will leave the campaign trail to headline the April 1 fundraiser hosted by Tsakopoulos in Sacramento.  The lieutenant governor and daughter of the real estate developer, Eleni Kounalakis, will also attend.  The dinner runs between $1,000 and $2,800 a plate, according to the Sacramento Bee.  And the meal raises an awkward question:  Are wealthy donors with questionable pasts a political liability in an increasingly progressive Democratic presidential primary?

What Got Into CBS? Hosts Grill Kamala Harris Over Paying for Things, Federalism.  The journalists at CBS This Morning are not, generally speaking, tough on Democrats, especially the 2020 presidential candidates.  When they offer tough questions, it's often from the left.  That's why it was so surprising on Tuesday [3/26/2019] to see the show's co-hosts grill Kamala Harris about the costs of her policy proposals and even the concept of federalism.  Harris this week announced a plan to give each teacher a $13,500 raise.  Rather than just fawn over the idea, co-host Bianna Golodryga wondered, "But the big question is how are you going to pay for it?" After the Democratic Senator dodged the question, co-host Gayle King asked it again:  "How did you come up with a figure of $13,500 and I'm still not sure how you're going to pay for it."

Why are 2020 Democrats so weird?  Last month Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.) told a painfully obvious lie about listening to Snoop Dogg and Tupac while smoking weed in college (she graduated many years before either of them released their debut albums).  Even her own father told her to cut it out.

More Than 120,000 Californians of Color [were] Sent to Prison on Harris's Watch.  While serving as California's top cop, Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) oversaw the incarceration of at least 127,000 Black and Hispanic Californians, data obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show.  These data, based on reports from and a request to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), almost certainly undercount the total number of individuals who were sent to prison while Harris served as state attorney general.  Still, they reveal that at least 44,172 black offenders and 83,370 Hispanic offenders were newly admitted to California's prisons between 2011 and 2016, compared to 48,761 whites and 11,182 "other"-identified individuals.

Kamala Harris Says She Would Not Execute Someone for Committing Treason Against the United States.  In an interview broadcast yesterday by National Public Radio, Sen. Kamala Harris (D.-Calif.) said that she would not impose the death penalty on someone who committed treason against the United States.  Harris takes the position that the death penalty should never be used as punishment for any crime.

The genius of Elizabeth Warren.  Did you know that Kamala Harris is not a huge fan of President Trump's proposed border wall?  Oh, my yes.  And not only that.  She thinks that with his presidency we have arrived at "an inflection point in the history of our nation" and that "the American dream and our American democracy are under attack and on the line."  She is also — get this — against "leaders who bully."  The California senator's remarks at the January kick-off rally for her 2020 campaign were typical of what we have been hearing from Democrats with presidential ambitions: a lot of guff about unity and the power of love and the real magic that has been inside our hearts all along.  You can't blame Democrats for sticking to this sort of thing.  It's exactly what Barack Obama did in 2008, when he talked about "the fierce urgency of now" (as opposed to 500 years ago, I guess, which is hard to be urgent about even if you are a historian) and made some very grandiose and occasionally somewhat moving speeches.

Kamala Harris gains momentum among Democrats with proposal to legalize prostitution.  Decriminalizing prostitution — an idea gaining momentum among some Democrats, including at least one 2020 presidential contender — may one day be traced back to the hookers plying their trade under the elevated train along New York City's Roosevelt Avenue.  That open-air market of prostitutes and johns in Queens, undeterred by the constant threat of arrest and incarceration, has been cited by New York state lawmakers mulling whether it's time to wave the white flag in the war on the world's oldest profession.

More than a million paid out in California state sex harassment suits, and Kamala Harris recalls nothing.  Kamala Harris, who's running for president on a vehement #MeToo platform as a Democrat, sure has a lot of memory problems.  It's not just the $400,000 the state had to shell out based on the disgusting sex harassment behavior of her top lieutenant, Larry Wallace, her handpicked director for the division of law enforcement at the state attorney general's office, which is quite a whopper in itself.  It's the $700,000 in more California taxpayer payout money for the sex-harassing activities of her other lieutenants.  The Los Angeles Times reports that it did a search of public records and found that the total payout tally was $1.1 million.  I am going to assume that includes the $400,000 payout from Harris's wingman Wallace, although the report doesn't say.

Kamala Harris mischaracterizes San Francisco policy she backed that reported arrested undocumented juveniles to ICE.  Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris this week mischaracterized a 2008 policy she supported that led to undocumented minors who were arrested for suspected felonies being turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement before they had been convicted of crimes.  Speaking to an audience in Iowa Sunday on Political Party Live a podcast about Iowa politics, Harris was asked by host Misty Rebik about a CNN KFile report detailing Harris' public support for a citywide policy enacted by then-Mayor Gavin Newsom of reporting juvenile undocumented immigrants arrested by local police to ICE.  The decision revoked a previous policy of non-reporting.

Kamala Harris calls for decriminalizing sex work, insists Trump is racist.  Presidential candidate Kamala Harris made some bold statements in an interview on Tuesday, calling for the decriminalization of sex work and labeling President Trump a racist.  "When you're talking about consenting adults, I think that yes, we should really consider that we can't criminalize consensual behavior, as long as no one is being harmed," Senator Harris, D-Calif., told The Root.  "But at the point that anyone is being harmed or exploited, then we have to understand that's a different matter."

Kamala Harris Says The Country Needs A President Who Can Prosecute Trump.  Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris said the U.S. needs a president who knows how to prosecute President Donald Trump, citing her former job as state attorney general Sunday [2/24/2019].  Harris, a 2020 presidential candidate, was in Bettendorf, Iowa, speaking to a group of supporters, when she said, "we're gonna need a fighter, and we're going to need somebody who knows how to prosecute the case against this president," pitching herself as the ideal candidate to defeat Trump in 2020 to the audience of around 500.

Kamala Harris Would Have Government 'Give Middle-Income Households Cash Payments of Up to $6,000 a Year'.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D.-Calif.) on Thursday night [2/21/2019] tweeted out a story by PBS News Hour that said her tax plan included a provision to give up to $6,000 per year in cash payments to middle-income households.  The PBS story was headlined:  "Why 2020 Democratic candidates are pushing more progressive tax proposals." [...] One paragraph in the story said:  "Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., is sticking by the tax plan she proposed last fall.  It would give middle-income households cash payments of up to $6,000 per family.  The payments would be offset by repealing the 2017 GOP tax cuts and creating a fee on large financial institutions."

Whiny feminism on display.  The race for the Democratic presidential nomination has barely commenced, but already Margaret Sullivan, the Washington Post's media columnist, is whining about "sexist" coverage of female candidates. [...] Sullivan notes that Kamala Harris' "long-ago love life has been parsed."  I assume she's referring to the story of her affair with Willie Brown, the then-married California power broker who got Harris appointed to two commissions.  Sullivan offers no explanation as to why this story should be off-limits.  Instead, she conceals the reason why it shouldn't be — the fact that the "love life" in question involved the most powerful figure in Bay Area, and arguably California, politics.  Is there any reason to believe that, if a male politician's rise had been aided by a powerful female lover, the media would ignore it?  Certainly not if the male politician were a Republican.

Kamala Harris: 'Poor People Sit in Jail Because They Don't Have Money to Pay Bail'.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D.-Calif.) sent out a Tweet on Monday [2/18/2019] calling for reform of the bail system because she says it causes poor people to remain in jail awaiting trial while a wealthy person charged with the same offense can get out on bail.  "It's long past time to address bail reform across the country," Harris tweeted.  "Too often, poor people sit in jail because they don't have the money to pay bail, while someone with the same offense but money in their pocket gets out.  "This is a serious injustice," said Harris.

Sen. Kamala Harris: 'It Needs to be Repeated:  Ripping Babies Away from Parents to Put Them in Cages is Inhumane'.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D.-Calif.) sent out a Tweet on Wednesday night [2/20/2019] featuring a video commentary by Dr. Arshya Vahabzadeh, a child psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital, condemning the policy of separating the children of illegal aliens from their parents when they are caught crossing the border.  "The trauma these children experience will live on for decades to come," Harris said in her Tweet.  "It's absurd that it needs to be repeated:  ripping babies away from their parents to put them in cages is inhumane."

Kamala Harris [was] Literally Speechless When Asked About Jussie Smollett Hoax.  She said it was a modern-day lynching; she said it without evidence; now that the evidence disproved her assumptions, she has nothing to say.  2020 presidential candidate Kamala Harris was literally speechless when confronted by reporters about recent revelations that "Empire" star Jussie Smollett may have staged a hate crime in order to allegedly gain attention.  Upon initially hearing about the alleged hate crime, Harris accepted it at face-value despite the obvious holes in Smollett's initial story.

Jussie Smollett:  A Case Study in Modern Liberalism.  The noose thing was a clever touch.  As my observant young colleague, Matt Miano, pointed out to me, Smollett was photographed approximately a year prior to his "noose attack" alongside Sen. Kamala Harris at a protest in Los Angeles.  Kamala Harris sponsored an "anti-lynching bill" in the Senate in late 2018 to make lynching a new federal crime.  The bill had always previously stalled in the Senate, because it was seen as an unnecessary political gimmick, meant to remind people of historical black oppression in the South.  Murdering people with a rope has always been a crime under state law.  In the wake of Smollett's faked "noose assault" in Chicago on Jan. 29, Harris's anti-lynching bill unanimously passed the Senate on Feb. 14.  Imagine that!  And who was one of the first Democratic luminaries to jump in with outrage and sympathy for poor Jussie Smollett following the alleged assault by the evil MAGA headdress-sporting bleach purveyors?  You guessed it.  Senator Kamala Harris.

Brit Hume Takes On NBC Reporter And Obama Adviser Over Kamala Harris Coverage.  Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume took issue with the way several reporters covered the Kamala Harris campaign — and defended himself when NBC's Kasie Hunt and former Obama adviser Ben Rhodes fired back.  It all began with a Saturday tweet from CBS political reporter Caitlin Huey-Burns, who posted a video of Harris trying on a rainbow-colored sequined jacket — apparently at the behest of CNN national political reporter Maeve Reston.

Female 'Journalists' Go Clothes Shopping With 2020 Dem Hopeful Kamala Harris.  Female 'journalists' went shopping in South Carolina on Lady Street with 2020 Democrat darling Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) on Saturday and even helped her pick out a sequin jacket to buy.  CNN reporter Maeve Reston posted a video of Kamala Harris trying on the sequin jacket and bragged that fellow NBC reporter Ali Vitali named it the "Mardi Gras Jacket."

CNN: Clothes Shoppers for the Rich and Famous.  In 2016, Hillary was the candidate of the liberal press.  Who will be the anointed candidate next year?  Kamala Harris is a good bet.  She features Hillary's leftist politics along with a "minority" look, probably a requirement in the next Democratic nominee.  She is also considerably better looking than Hillary.  So the press loves Kamala Harris.  Can reporters take the affair too far?  This morning, Harris went clothes shopping in Columbia, South Carolina — an early primary state.  Reporters helped her try on clothes.  Seriously.

Kamala Harris Packed California Prisons for Peddling Pot.  Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) admitted in an interview this week to using marijuana, an act that landed thousands in prison while she was California's Attorney General and opposed legalization of the drug.  The drug use admission to the "Breakfast Club" came as part of Harris' attempt to erase the reputation she earned as a California prosecutor.  She is now calling for legalizing marijuana as a first step to end the War on Drugs, but opposed marijuana legalization during both her 2010 campaign for Attorney General and 2014 re-election campaign, when she notably lost support from the marijuana industry after she laughed at her Republican opponent for supporting legalization.  Under Harris's six-year tenure, hundreds were sent to state prisons for marijuana-related offenses, crime records show.

The Woman Behind the Kamala Harris Presidential Campaign Is Ann Richards's Granddaughter.  California Senator Kamala Harris had what many consider a boffo kickoff last week for her Democratic presidential campaign — a huge rally in Oakland, the most widely viewed CNN candidate town hall ever, and kudos from pundits.  While Harris was everything her handlers could hope for — poised, polished, prepared — there's always someone behind that kind of success, someone who helped plan and pull together the events, a strategist with a steely vision.  In this case, it was a Texan with a political pedigree:  Lily Adams, the 31-year-old granddaughter of Texas icon and former Governor Ann Richards, and daughter of former Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards.

Mainstream Media Working Hard to Shore up Kamala Harris — is She the Female Obama?  It seems like virtually every major Democratic politician in the entire country is at least considering running for president, and a bunch of them have already officially entered the race, so why is the mainstream media pushing Kamala Harris so hard? [...] She has been dubbed "the next Obama" or the "female Obama" by many on the left, and just like we witnessed in 2008, the mainstream media can't help but gush about how wonderful she is.

Harris: No Reason to Have Assault Weapons in a Civil Society.  During a CNN-sponsored town hall in Iowa Monday night, Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) said there is "no reason" to have assault weapons in a civil society.  "We have got to have smart gun safety laws in this country, and we've got to stop buying this false choice.  You can be in favor of the Second Amendment and also understand that there is no reason in a civil society that we have assault weapons around communities that can kill babies and police officers," Harris said.  Harris, one of the many Democrats running in the 2020 presidential primary, held a town hall in Iowa where a pastor asked what she would do to tackle gun violence.

Kamala Harris Sounds a Lot Like an Authoritarian.  It wouldn't be fair to accuse presidential hopeful Kamala Harris of supporting state control over the means of all production.  To this point, the junior senator from California is focused only on the energy, health care, auto manufacturing and education sectors.  Good candidates prioritize.  In this age of hyperbole, I sometimes worry about overusing words such as "socialist" and "authoritarian."  Yet if we accept that an authoritarian is a person who favors or enforces strict obedience to authority, especially that of the government, at the expense of personal freedom, I'm not sure how anyone watching Harris' campaign kickoff this week could maintain that her policy positions do not fit that description.  For starters, here are some of the things that Harris believes the state can ban at the expense of your personal freedom:  private health insurance, your car, affordable energy, political speech, your guns and for-profit colleges.  Of course, the media, complicit in normalizing these hard-left positions over the past decade, treat her agenda as the centrist option for voters.

Kamala Harris Wants to Be Your President!  She Thinks ICE Is the KKK.  Kamala Harris compared ICE to the KKK during a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing to consider the nomination of Ronald Vitiello to be the new director of ICE.  He has been serving as the Acting Director.  Vitiello had once referred to the Democratic Party as "liberalcratic" or "NeoKlanist" and Kamala brought that up to humiliate him.  He explained it was wrong to make those comments and he was sorry he offended people.  He wasn't referring to the KKK, he explained.  Kamala didn't care since she was leading up to something quite different.  The presidential hopeful wanted to make a comparison between ICE and the KKK.

Harris and progressives are pitching Medicare-for-all.  Will she or won't she?  Is Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.) really going to run on Medicare-for-all the hard way — not as a buy-in for people who want to, but as a ban on private insurance?  On Monday [1/28/2019], when Harris sat down for a CNN town hall discussion, the answer seemed to be yes, she's doing the Full Bernie.  On Tuesday there were rumors she'd walked it back.  And by Wednesday, maybe the walkback was itself being walked back?

"The Next Obama"? Why Is The Mainstream Media Working So Hard To Promote Kamala Harris?  It seems like virtually every major Democratic politician in the entire country is at least considering running for president, and a bunch of them have already officially entered the race, so why is the mainstream media pushing Kamala Harris so hard?  According to Real Clear Politics, Kamala Harris has not gotten more than single-digit support in any of the 11 major polls for the Democratic nomination that have been conducted so far.  And at this point, her average of just 5.0 percent support in those polls puts her in fourth place in this race.  But if you listen to the mainstream media, they are constantly using terms such as "leading contender" and "frontrunner" to describe her.  In recent days she has been getting more media attention than all of the other declared Democratic candidates combined, and that makes one wonder what is really going on behind the scenes.

Willie Brown says Kamala Harris threatened him with indictment after their affair that helped launch her political career.  A week after Sen. Kamala Harris announce that she was running for president, on a weekend when the California Democrat held a big rally in her hometown of Oakland, the former mayor of San Francisco, Willie Brown, confessed that Harris was once his mistress.  Brown, 84, also stated that he used his influence to essentially launch her political career.  In a weekly column Brown does for the San Francisco Chronicle that was focused on Harris' presidential run, he spoke of an extramarital affair he said he had with Harris.

Kamala Harris vows to get rid of private health care plans: 'Let's eliminate all of that.  Let's move on'.  California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris, speaking during a town hall Monday night [1/28/2019], vowed to eliminate all private health care insurance for approximately 150 million Americans if she is elected president.  Asked by CNN host Jake Tapper if people who like their current health care insurance could keep it under Harris' "Medicare for All" plan, Harris indicated they could not — but that, in turn, they would experience health care without any delays.  Her statements appeared to be a full-throated call for single-payer health insurance, as opposed to merely expanding Medicare, and a dramatic embrace of the kind of proposals advocated by Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Kamala Harris Was Right About Medicare for All (And That's Why It Won't Work).  Sen. Kamala Harris committed a most unusual gaffe at her CNN town hall the other night — not by misspeaking about one of her central policy proposals, but describing it accurately.  Asked on Monday night if the "Medicare for all" plan that she's co-sponsoring with Sen. Bernie Sanders eliminates private health insurance, she said that it most certainly does.  Citing insurance company paperwork and delays, she declared, "Let's eliminate all of that.  Let's move on."

Kamala Harris's Identity Ticket.  Now that first-term Senator Kamala Harris has formally announced for the presidency in 2020, she has to be considered the odds-on favorite to win the Democrat nomination.  This stems not from anything in Harris's relatively slight résumé, other than her "identity" and a hard-left stand on most issues.  Harris checks almost all the critical boxes.  Barring a particularly toxic skeleton in the closet or a major campaign error, she will likely end up President Trump's opponent in 2020.  Harris identifies as both an African-American (her father is Jamaican) and Indian-American (her mother hails from the subcontinent.)  Being half Native American and gay would be a bit better, but among the current crop of possible Democrat candidates, none identify better as far as Democrats are concerned.

The Left decides Kamala Harris is a cop — but she's running anyways.  Any Democrat seeking to unseat President Trump will have to achieve at least one of the following: mobilize the base to achieve Obama-level turnout and enthuse the Left, or successfully splinter off ideological agnostics and the suburbs that defected from the GOP in the midterm elections.  Candidates like Julian Castro or Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., will probably focus on the former, while Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, or Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., would emphasize the latter.  But most candidates will likely require a blend of both to beat Trump.  This is where Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., will have a problem.

What to Expect from a Kamala Harris Presidency.  Democrats have always had schizophrenia when it comes to candidates from poor upbringings.  On the one hand, they need such people to run for office and appeal to voters from poor upbringings.  On the other hand, incredibly wealthy people like Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein still run the Democratic Party.  Few survive the Scylla and Charybdis of identity politics.  You have to show that you are part of an oppressed group and that the oppressor groups can trust you with their support and not get burned.  Harris dances this line perfectly.  She went to Howard University for her undergraduate work, guaranteeing her bona fides in the black community.  She plays to a key donor class, LGBTs, because of her history as California attorney general.

Pocahontas and Krazy Kamala shamelessly pander for Nutroots support.  The "Netroots," derisively — and accurately — called the "Nutroots" by some, is a group of hard-left activists who provide the ready foot soldiers when the left goes to electoral war.  So would-be 2020 Democratic presidential candidates appeared before them, each trying to appear more insanely left-wing than the others, in an attempt to curry favor with the certifiably politically insane.  Most prominent among them was Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Caucasian-American pretending to be an Indian-American, and Senator Kamala Harris, an Indian-American who prefers to emphasize being African-American.  Senator Cory Booker was also there, almost as an afterthought, probably for comic relief.

Deserve?  Based on what?
Sen. Kamala Harris:  Black women deserve bigger role in Democratic politics.  Sen. Kamala Harris said Friday black women deserve to have a bigger voice in the upper echelons of the Democratic Party and launched a preemptive strike against those that might try to criticize her vision as "identity politics."  Mrs. Harris, the daughter of a Jamaican father and Indian mother, is thought to be laying the groundwork for a presidential run in 2020 and told liberal activists gathered in New Orleans for the annual Netroots Nation conference that the Democratic Party must become more diverse.
